That is really sad news WS. I follow Nkorho Bush Lodge on FB but didn't realise the whole thing was closing down - what a tragedy. Does that mean the cams are all going? I've just checked and Djuma waterhole cam is up and running.

Why? Why is the live drives stopping. I have not kept up with the drives to my shame.

Is it financial? Is there some licensing issues?

Its financial SM. They have run out of money, and after exploring all avenues have reluctantly decided that they just could'nt carry on.

That was their words exactly SM
Djuma Cam is working, and changing position, but there is no voice over
This is the last news I can find on Kurula, and the Cubs. I will really miss keeping upto date with her

Djuma cam didnt have a voice over WS - it's always been a silent cam that pans around. Happily it seems to be running still and moving around, but who knows?

Checked Djuma waterhole cam just now - although it's dark it is still running.

This is what they say -
This camera is located on Djuma Private Game Reserve inside the Sabi Sand and part of the Greater Kruger National Park. It overlooks Gowrie Dam which is located right in front of Djuma's 5 star Vuyatela guest lodge.

This camera is one of the longest running waterhole cameras in Africa and in particular during the dry season often home to leopards or lions coming for a drink or elephants coming for a swim. The camera is now remotely controlled around the clock, archived 24/7 and if something interesting happens twitter alerts will be sent out (@wildearth) so you won't have to miss a thing.

Just caught up with your last link on Karula WS. I do find it so sad that we wont have news on Karula and her cubs and also Mixo & Induna. Like you I have become so fond of this amazing family and will miss them greatly.

From Nkorho Bush Lodge FB page today

Good morning from a cloudy Nkorho! Went on drive yesterday and got to see Karula... what a beautiful Leopard. She was out hunting and it was quite a challenge keeping up with her. After a few minutes Peter let her go her way and we left her. They were so lucky in finding her and the 2 cubs again this morning... Had a small herd of Buffalo drinking at our waterhole earlier today and the Fish Eagle is here again nearly every day! Also had Zebras, Vervet Monkeys, Warthog, Impala, Bluewildebeest and Kudu around the open area this morning

A good one from Cedric this morning

‎26th August 2011
Morning
- buffalo herd (200) three in a row pan (feeding)
- Mafufanjane (male leopard) telkom line road (walking south)
- Thandi (female leopard) ndloti junction gowrie main ( was stalking a male warthog and got up right behind the warthog and started to smell its behind.. Then the warthog got such a fright and fled. It was the strangest thing I've seen for a long time. We were laughing so much due to the behavior of Thandi.)

Regards
Cedric Nkorho ranger

Brilliant Lai. I can just see the warthog jump at the sight of a leopard right behind him.
