Masai Mara - September 2011 - Hyena 40683 I do think Hyena are an acquired taste and they are not one of my favourites but even I have to admit the little ones are very cute Like a Star @ heaven

I do hate the way they steal everyone else's food that they have done all the hard work and hunted for, especially the solitary cheetah and leopard - they have no chance of retaining their food to a pack of Hyena No

Gorgeous photo's Anne-Marie, especially photo's 4 & 5 I love you .

I agree with your sentiments Doogs over how they steal food, it doesn't seem fair does it, especially when the lone females have worked so hard to feed themselves and their little families.

A few years ago I was not a fan of the Hyena but slowly I have come to love them more and more, I wished they would buy their own food instead of stealing but I do admire them a lot more than I ever did.

I keep scrolling up and down looking at those pics AM and the first one sure does look as if she is Very Happy

I'm still not sure what I think of the hyena really. I don't like the fact they steal food. It makes it so hard for the lone cats. I definitely don't like their laugh. They did all just look so peaceful when we saw them though.

Great photos again AM. At the end of the Day they do what they have to, to survive, and bring up their young. I know its not nice but the ecosystem depends on them as well as Vultures. With out them there would be rotting carcases all over, and that would cause loads of problems.

I think hyenas have a bad rep but they are part of the animal kingdom and like so many others are just trying to survive. The baby is sweet the way it is cuddled you to mum.

Lovely photos Anne-Marie. I have to confess I like hyenas, they are fascinating to watch and follow. Strange and curious animals and okay some very bad manners and habits but quite amazing. I love the noises the make, especially at night when you are trying to sleep, the sound travels so well, you think they are outside your tent - well sometimes they are affraid Masai Mara - September 2011 - Hyena 40683
