The chicks are doing well, and being fed properly. The view from the ground cam will be better, when the young start coming out of the nest, and spreading their wings

Got another update. Not much this time but R1 showing off a bit. Love this pic, the backlghting just looks cool.

This is R1, Hard to see through the tree but getting big

Seems all is well for now. Food is no longer a problem since the original scare and the chicks are getting big!

That first photo is a cracker Ronnie, would look great bigger, and in a frame. Good news that they are now growing well

Lovely video from the other day Ronnie, great ot see all that wing flapping Very Happy looked in on them just now and all is fairly quiet, you can see a wee bit of movement but not clear enough to take a picture.

Hi guys. They have gone back to live streaming on the Ustream site from the ground cam. There is no IR and no sound. There has been a lot of wing flapping going on lately and the chicks are expected to take the leap any day now. I was looking over the site and found this map posted showing locations of all the nests around the James River. I had no idea there were that many around here.

That really is a lot of nests isn't it Ronnie and I suppose it goes to show the species must be doing fairly well.
I haven't checked this cam for a little while now but must keep an weye on it now, especially as they are about to take the leap Very Happy

Sorry for not updating this sooner guys, there is just so much going on right now I've been a bit preoccupied. The ground cam just doesn't do justice, but the eaglets are about on the same timeframe as they are in Decorah. Right now a lot of wingersizing going on. They are starting to hop around a lot testing their flying ability. Shouldn't be too much longer now til they "take the leap".

Thanks for the update Ronnie, I must admit I haven't checked these for a while either and not much time this morning to check the other cams either.
Good to know they are getting on ok and will soon be on the leap......must make some time to check in before they go.

Thanks for the news Ronnie. Know what you mean about so much going on, not enough time in the day, or half the night come to that

Ronnie - that was a great clip, amazing to watch them hopping around and stretching their wings and then finally one fledges, and then comes back.

WOW WOW WOW Loved that Ronnie. That was so heartwarming, to see them grow and then their first hoppings and flappings and then flight, just brilliant. I loved the fact that he fledged and then came back and before he went all that jumping on the branch and wing flapping, just spectacular.....Thanks Ronnie Like a Star @ heaven

They have been flying around the nest tree all weekend! This video is from earlier today. Another Eagle lands in the tree with R1 and R2 sitting there. One of the parents is not too happy about it and zooms in to protect the nest!

Thanks for the Video Ronnie, good news that the young are now flying round the nest tree, after the scare earlier on when they moved the cam, just shows what a wise decision that was. That parent was certainly not having having any messing with the young.
