I wasn't quite sure where to post this but here seemed the most sensible option.
I am sure many of us have watched Cesar before and I for one never realised he used such methods of training, I have always loved his programmes but I am not comfortable with such methods but then some will say if he can rehabilitate a dog that is going to be destroyed then maybe these methods are in the dogs interest. Is it cruel or is it not? is the last paragraph more apt than Cesars rise to fame and his TV programme?
I haven't posted this to spark a heated debat just couldnt fit it anywhere else.

I read this artical. I do'nt believe his methods are right at all. A dog should do what you want, and behave out of respect for its owner, not through fear. The animal organizations point out that you can achieve the same results by the reward system, and most of the time its the owners who need the training, not only the Dog. So would he treat the owners in the same way. It may have saved some Dogs form being put down, but is it a Dogs life to live in fear ?

Oh dear, training a dog by fear is not right at all! I had no idea he used such methods and admits to electric shocks and spike chokers, surely that can't be a good way to train dogs.

I also fear what it my make other dog owners do. As it says in the article Cesar has TV editing at his hands to take out all the bits they dont want us to see, but for some to hear that electric shocks and spike chokers are a good way to train your dog you just know that there are some people out there that will think its ok to do this to their dog and heaven knows what will happen to those dogs.

I don't think I will be watching another Cesar programme again.

I see he's doing a UK Tour - http://cesarmillanlive.com/uk-tickets-tour-dates/

Wonder if what's been said in the press will affect his ticket sales ??
