Welcome to everyday Lets Talk
Sorry about bb/internet yesterday at home. It's since we've got faster bb it kicks out all the time mostly when I'm in the middle of typing something!
I'm so impressed you bake Littlewid. Somehow I just can't do it but I do love to watch Bake Off and think about it. Your cakes sound delicious. I agree about that mousse, what a disaster but at least she didn't throw it away
Pete just called me to say he heard on the radio that the first person to be named for being in Strictly is Jeremy Vine I wonder what he'll be like?
I know we didn't do our Sweet Pea thread this year but whilst at RHS Tatton I spotted these lovely little Sweet peas and bought a packet of seeds for next year. They are so delicate and come in many different colours, I think I ended up with the blue ones
Have a good week everyone.

Good Evening Everyone
Sorry a bit late on here as Ive been at Emma & Toms all evening, it was my mum and dads anniversary today and we still celebrate it even though my dad isn't here. So we have had drinks and nibbles and fun and games this evening and Nero has had a long walk along the beach courtesy of Lara, so I will catch up on here properly tomorrow after work if that's ok as I see Safariman has posted more about his safari which I want to take in properly.
Its been a bit of a miserable day weather wise here and its cold this evening and a bit blowy......not summer like at all.
Lai the internet seems to give us all gip most of the time, we would be lost without it but it causes so many headaches doesn't it.
Jeremy Vine.....that will be interesting, have you heard who else is on this next season?......im soooooo looking forward to it
Yes I didn't do my sweet peas this year which is a shame as I love them but those pics are lovely and as you brought seeds you should have a lovely mass if peas next year.......you will be leading the way with them next year
I do love baking, in fact the whole family love cooking I one way or another which is nice really, Emma and Keith, my bro in law are the adventurous ones and im the baker......but no where near good enough for bake Off standards ......heres a couple of pics.....
Lemon and Coconut Drizzle cake.....Gluten free and Lactose free so made with normal GF flour and a quarter coconut flour, made with fresh lemons with a crunchy sugar lemon topping.....should have taken it from a different angle as it looks flat but its a loaf.
Oh looks like I have the upside down effect with my pics again but you get the gist of it.
Orange Victoria sponge with an orange curd filling and soft buttercream......GF again and dust with loads of icing sugar as that's the way the kids love it....
Oh bo diddly up the wrong way again....too late to swap them round but if you tilt your heads and neck it doesn't look half bad
Right I need to get off to bed, so im in for a big catch up tomorrow evening after watering my friends garden.......if it doesn't rain over night
Have a good day tomorrow everyone

Good morning everyone
Littlewid, the cakes look delicious and I am smiling about your pics,
It's something to do with the Ethernet cable rather than wifi - Pete set it up whilst I was AWOL. Anyway just now it is working
Glad you had a fun evening and that Nero had a good walk.
I'm off to look at Safariman's post now that I'm online again ................
Sunny today and we had a glorious evening last night, north south divide in our favour for once

Recipes now When will it ever end. These shows should be strictly banned, surely Britains got talent to produce better shows than this. They are strictly on my X Factor list not to watch that's X off.
Sounds like you had a great night LW, that must have been lovely, but you must have been tired when you got home, I think you may have been nodding off, and your head was lolling sideways cos your cake pics look fine to me .
We had a lovely day yesterday for a change, but still a bit windy back to grey to day so far.
I've done the windows 10 free upgrade on my laptop, so I know what you mean about Internet headaches Guys

Re: Welcome to everyday Lets Talk
well you seem to know all the shows WS...think you named them all there .......yeah I must have been really tired last night or drunk this evening cos all the pictures look normal now WS
Mrs S might like the recipes WS and it's good to share ......they really are scrummy even though they look quite basic cakes......they go down well with a Latte Lai
Glad you got your internet sorted Lai and windows 10 WS...whats that like? many changes?
Been a bit of a miserable day here today weather wise but its not been any cooler its still warm even though its been rain and drizzle
Right off to watch Alan Titchmarsh and Love your Garden now.... I do like this program
Have a good evening guys and a good day tomorrow.....hopefully a sunny one North and South

Good morning all
WS - but as Littlewid says, you seem to know all about these shows
The second person on Strictly has been announced ...... It's Ainsley Harriet I bet he can dance so can't wait for that. I guess they'll announce them all through the next few weeks. I bet you can't contain your excitement WS
NEWSFLASH - Pete just called and 3rd person for Strictly is Kelly Bright from EastEnders - ok so I have no idea who she is
I have windows 10 on my laptop and love it, not much change from windows 8. Still on 7 in the office and waiting for the upgrade but know it will cause problems there
Sunny still up here Rosie has the all clear from the vet re her problems, it's not kidneys and nothing is showing up in bloods or urine samples, her feet are still bad but she now has an oestrogen pill daily for her bed wetting - poor little dog.
Have a great day everyone

Good Evening Everyone
Well what a day, all that and it was soooo loud during the day. It apparently thundered badly during the night but all I can remember is vaguely saying to Nero "oh it's thunder" and that was it......sparko again I think we are in for more thunder etc tonight....how joyful Hope everyone is ok though and no flooding as I know some places have been flooded with the amount of rain there was.
STRICTLY CONVERSATION....... I don't know the lady from Eastenders either Lai as I don't watch it Ainsley should be brilliant though and i'm looking forward to seeing him. I read in the paper today that the fourth person is Georgia May Foote who used to be in Corrie, she's quite young so I reckon she will be another good one. I love that they are releasing the names slowly but I also just wish they would tell us all of them Have you heard a start date for it Lai?
Sorry to hear about Rosie, I didn't know she was having problems but at least it doesn't sound anything nasty, is it just older age for her? lets hope the oestrogen pills work for her........ for Rosie from all of us here xxxx
Windows 10 sounds ok. On my pc yesterday it said I could order/go on a waiting list for it so I did that, im sure that was safe to do as it was from Microsoft......if I go AWOL you know it wasn't safe and my pc blew up
Have a good day tomorrow folks and lets hope it is better than today

Re: Welcome to everyday Lets Talk
Good morning everyone
It's torrential here and I am stuck at home wondering about going to the office and getting drenched getting there, or not .... I may just wait a while and hope it stops for 5 minutes!
More Strictly talk I've no idea when it starts Littlewid, I follow them on FB for snippets of news and am waiting to hear who the fifth person will be. I don't watch Corrie either so don't know who Georgia May Foote is
The vet isn't sure what it is with Rosie - she will be 9 in October, so far the oestrogen is working so that's good news for her.
The Windows 10 alert is genuine Littlewid and you'll get an e-mail when it's available to download. It didn't take long on my laptop and it user friendly once you get used to it very different from Windows 7 though!
Right off to check out the weather
Have a good day everyone

All those programmes want throwing on a BBQ if I was any good at doing one. We only watch classical TV programmes here (Sniff ) like Corrie Emmerdale and East Enders

Good Afternoon Everyone
Goodness we had the torrential rain yesterday as well Lai, it was awful...but at least I didn't have to water my friends garden did you get into the office or opt for staying dry at home ?
I'm pleased to hear that the windows 10 was for real, so all I have to do now is to wait for my email and then get going with it
I didn't realise Strictly was on FB, hopefully they will announce the start date soon I haven't heard any more announcements as to who is in it but at least we know that WS will know exactly who all the soap stars are I do watch Emmerdale and bits of Corrie but never Eastenders....leave that to my sister and Emma!!!!!
WS there is a programme called The Big BBQ Challenge or something like that, its on ITV....so that may give you a few BBQ tips
I'm pleased to hear that the oestrogen is working for Rosie Lai, sometimes as long as something works we don't always need to know the root cause of the problem and sometimes i'm sure like human medicine, we don't always know the cause of something it's put down to idiopathic....no known cause, im just glad she seems to be doing ok.
It's a fairly nice day here, sun and cloud but at least it's dry and that's good as i'm off in a little while to Emma & Toms for a BBQ......Tom is still mastering the art of the BBQ WS, last time even Nero wouldn't eat his burgers and they were a little cremated, he kept spitting them out
Have a good evening everyone whatever you are up too.

Re: Welcome to everyday Lets Talk
Good morning everyone. In the end I waited 20 minutes Littlewid until the rain was less torrential today it's a lovely sunny great which is perfect for a Sunday
Oooooooooooh yes you must follow it Littlewid, FB has Strictly and of course Springwatch on FB it's handy for tit bits
Thanks for letting me know Littlewid, I feel better about Rosie now and she's coping in fact very bouncy and no wetting all the dog beds which is a relief for all the dogs as they all share and move around endlessly.
I hope the bbq was a success, it sounds like Tom needs some practice we haven't had even one this year
Off to Waitrose and a Costa/Nero caffé - have a great day everyone.

Good evening everyone
Hope you enjoyed your Latte this morning Lai? You can't beat a nice Latte and Costas and Neros make yummy ones.
Glad you didn't get soaked going to work...nothng worse than sitting in work soaking wet
The BBQ was lovely thanks, yesterday was a busy day, shopping in town and a scrummy Latte then back her to sort the furries and then off for the BBQ.....a few burnt offerings but it was a great evening but yes definitely more BBQ practice is needed but he is getting better.
Today I dropped Nero off at Emma& Toms then went into town with my mum for a Latte and cake, then the main reason we were there was for my mum to order a new suite. Then I took her home and headed off to Emmas and then Emma, Tom, Lara, Kian and their friends Jack and Lottie and Nero and me went for a very long walk in Sullington Copse. Its beautiful with magnificent woods but also an open green which made for good running space for Nero although he did love the woods as well. I was in charge of the sports and we had various running races and cartwheel races and Kian and Jack paired up with some chinese students and had a football match which seemed to go all Kian and Jacks way, they are mad keen footballers and play for a really good team, so of cojrse they took it really seriously but thats boys. There are lots of magnificent trees and tons of neatheras well, so pretty although its very hilly and rugged. Anyway a good time was had by all and we were all rather snattered, its a mega walk to do the whole copse.
My afternoon has been the chores how boring but it has to be done I suppose.
Back to work tomorrow. ?...but it keeps us out of trouble
I will have to check out the strictly FB page Lai as that will help to keep up to date
Hope everyone has had a good day.......have a good week everyone

Re: Welcome to everyday Lets Talk
Littlewid, I am exhausted just reading about your busy weekend glad you had a good one.
Sunday was also chores day here but at least it's done.
We've been invited to Chester zoo on Wednesday evening to celebrate the opening on Islands at Chester zoo, should be fun as get to tour the islands, experience the lazy river boat trip and get drinks and south east Asian food as well as a presentation. I am not a huge zoo fan but Chester is a good zoo and is pro active with the badger vaccinations.
Have a good week everyone.

Hope you had a great weekend LW, by the sounds of it you have, and hopefully the BBQ went well.
I've seen some clips on TV of the new islands at Chester zoo, and it really does look great, and as you say it does have a good reputation. Hope the weathers kind to you, and dont forget your camera (hint)
LW you said you were waiting for your Windows10 upgrade email. Have you registered for the update ?

Re: Welcome to everyday Lets Talk
Good evening everyone
Sorry I have been quiet last week. My neighbour got rushed in to hospital and he ended up havkng a major operation on Thursday. He is ok but it has hit him like a ton of bricks and its life changing so its going to take some time to come to terms with it but he is doing ok slowly. So I have been visiting him during the day for a short while and then in the evenings as his sister lives and works in Hong Kong and his mum is elderly and not too well herself and she has been a little freaked out by it all. On top of that, he has a dear little cat called Katy......after his prized boat so I have been seeing to her before work and in the evenings along with my crew. He also has a regular hedgehog visitor who comes every evening to be fed so of course I am on hedgehog duty as well so with all of that and work as well and cleaning both houses so neither of us drown in animal fur its been kinda busy and whilst im waiting for my oven to heat up to cook my tea this is the first opportunity I have had to get on here and next week is going to be patchy too as it just continues as he wont be home yet and when he is he is going to need lots of help but I know if the boot was on the other foot he would do the same for me.
The other disaster this week which im sure you have all heard about was our Air Show at Shoreham. Its a place that I go to often for coffee or lunch with two of my friends, I have talked about it before and posted pics as well, its a 1940's airport. I drive past where the accident happened on a fairly regular basis on a Saturday to go browsing at one of the clothes and homeware outlets, mum and I decided to stay away this week as the airshow was on and it would have been manic.....thank god we did as it happened the time we are usually on that bit of road. Unfortunately or fortunately Tom had taken Lara, Kian and Lara's little boyfriend to the airshow so even though they were in the airport grounds they saw the whole thing, apart from the carnage on the road thank heavens, such a blessing it would have been awful if the children had seen the shear devastation. My heart goes out to all those who have lost their lives and their familys. Some of them are local to me but I don't know them. What a dreadful day it was and the poor pilot is battling for his life, how they got him out I do not know. The stretch of road is still closed and will be for tomorrow as well. Its a duel carriage way and is such a busy road and the road we use for buzzing between the two hospitals. I hope this is then end to Air shows as there is always an accident and someone always dies.....this time it was more catastrophic.
On a brighter note, after all the dreadul rain we have had, we have a nice sunny evening here and my roses in my tubs are looking very pretty
I also managed to have a long chat with Doogs in the week late one evening and she is fine. Very busy at work as she is covering for someone who is off and she is also still working at the pub and also trying to get her house sorted and a bit of decorating. She sends her love to everyone and is planning on getting back on here as soon as she can but at least we all know she is doing ok
How was the zoo evening LaI? It sounded really good....let us know how it was and if you managed any pics.
Yes I have my windows 10 email WS but at the moment no time to sort it so I imagine I will do it sometime after next week when things may settle down a tad all being well.
Right off to put my jacket spud in the oven.......thats a great Sunday tea!!!! Well it gives me a little more timeto catch up on here whilst its cooking

Re: Welcome to everyday Lets Talk
Good morning everyone
Oh dear Littlewid, you are having a busy time again, don't forget to look after yourself as well We heard about the Shoreham disaster whilst at Birdfair, it really was a devastating thing and only time will tell what actually caused the horrendous crash. What a relief for you Littlewid that Tom and the family weren't involved.
Good to hear that Doogs is okay, and last time I texted she did say she would be back just as soon as she can.
Chester was a great evening apart from the rain!!! Worth a visit once it is all up and running. They gave us wonderful food as well which sadly was supposed to be outside al fresco rather than under the shelter in the lashing rain None the less it was a great evening and sorry no photos.
Pete and I went to Birdfair on Friday and Saturday which we always enjoy, caught up with lots of friends including Johnny and Angie Scott, Johnny gave a great talk about the Mara and mentioned Cecil and hunting in an informative way. We missed lots of the talks we wanted to go to as there is so much to see and do and it was hot in those marquees As ever we came away thinking of all the wonderful birding holidays we could do one day
Have a great week everyone and enjoy the we left here yesterday in sunshine, spent the day in London in the rain and now it's lovely here again so fingers crossed it lasts all week.

Re: Welcome to everyday Lets Talk
As lai says make sure you look after yourself as well Wonder Woman . Seriously its really good of you to tacke care of your neighbours problems, and his cat, and resident hedgehog which I know you've done before, and I know he's been a lot of help to you in the past sorting out your fence ect. Glad Tom Lara, Kian, and Laras friend missed the most upsetting bits, and you, and your Mum didn't go that way on the day.
Really relieved that Doogs is ok we've been worried about her , thanks for the news. She's got a lot on her plate at the moment, with the 2 jobs, and sorting about the house so she doesn't need to worry about getting back on WAA she needs to sort her life out first and when all that's done we'll welcome her back with open arms
Sounds as usual you had a great time in London Lai, and caught up with Jonathan, and Angie. Weathers not been to bad here quite a bit of and not as bad as the forecast. Hope you all have some decent weather this week

Good morning everyone.
It's been very quiet on WAA. I am guessing Littlewid is still busy helping her neighbour and Doogs is still working all hours!
It's definitely turning autumnal now and the weather is getting cooler by the day. Pete and I are off to Egypt on Friday back on 21st and I just looked at the temperatures there - up to 40 in Luxor way too hot for me but not much we can do about that! It should be a wonderful time, no wildlife just ancient history for a change.
Have a good week everyone.

As you say Lai definitely been quiet on WAA.
Autumn is also approaching fast here in the south, with very chilly mornings and evenings. Not a great lover of cold weather but will now have to wait until next spring!!
Hope you and Pete have a great trip to Egypt Lai. My wife and I went there over 20 years ago just after the First Gulf War so there were very few tourists. I guess it is probably pretty similar now. If I remember we went in Oct. and it was still very hot, although it is a dry heat which helps. You will have to treat it like a safari and do all your sightseeing first thing in the morning and then chill out for the rest of the day. But it is worth the hardship to be able to see the incredible temples and tombs.

Re: Welcome to everyday Lets Talk
The weathers been lovely here this weekend, some really nice sunshine. LW's neighbour has come home from hostpital, but is vey weak, and still needs some care, but no more cat sitting, or hospital visit so she hopes to be back on tomorrow , or very soon. Her return will be really welcome. As you say its been quiet so she will hopefully give us a boost. By the way Lai thanks for replying to my posts about the Lion attack on that Hunter, and also the Bull Elephant charge on the Safari vehicle both in Zimbabwe. Its nice when people take the trouble reply to posts when you've made the effort to put them on

Good morning everyone
Thanks for that Safariman, we are on a tour with 36 people booked through the Daily Telegraph with a couple of experts so should be fascinating and also as you say early starts and then time out during the heat of the day. We are 3 days in Cairo and then flying to Luxor and cruising the Nile for 7 days.
Weather cool today first thing but hopefully like yesterday it will turn out to be a beautiful warm sunny September day.
Pleasure WS - always interesting to read posts, sometimes not able to do much with work being a bit busy before we go

Re: Welcome to everyday Lets Talk
Good evening one and all
I've finally made it back my neighbour is home as WS says but still quite weak and wobbly so help is still needed but hes ok which is great and Katy his cat is delighted. I now have more time but I haven't regreted giving my time, its great to see him on the mend.
I haven't been up to much as ive not had much time. Not sure if you new my friend had been over from Canada, we did get to see each other which was fantastic after 10+ years......im now hopefully planning a trip to Canada as well as the safari. I have been out for a few Lattes and discovered a fantastic gluten free cafe in town last Saturday and their home made bread is
WS wont like this bit but Lai I caught the Strictly Launch show on Saturday and love the pairings and at the moment im wanting Peter Andre to win but I also love Ewan Thomas cant wait for it to now start properly
Luxor is wonderful Lai, I think it was '96 I was there, I spent the two weeks there and did a cruise up the Nile and also flew to Cairo to do the Tutankhaman museum, that was amazing and of course we did the pyramids......they are so small inside. There is so much history and I am sure you will love it. It was about 35 - 37 degrees when we were there and that was hot enough......40 is ridiculous
A massive spider has just run across my floor......scared the life out of me as I was sitting on the floor typing this......it ran out from behind me and Splodge alerted me to it.......I dont do spiders so im all of a dither now
I will do my best to do some catching up on here over the next few days and hopefully catch you before you fly off to sunny Luxor Lai
Its great to be back after my unexpected absence. Im all good apart from another fractured rib whilst grooming Tiga!!!!! and the furries are all good too.
Half way through the week tomorrow

Good morning everyone
Littlewid is back. Good to hear your neighbour is home and on the mend. I bet Katy the cat is thrilled.
Oh yes indeed - Strictly my mum came over and we watched the launch show, some great pairings as you say and for once Anton has a fair chance of getting through! Missing some of the old professional dancers with 3 new ones? I think.
Thanks for the tips on Cairo Littlewid - it is just the heat that is worrying me
Spiders I think it was probably more scared of you not much worries me but I am not too keen on those large slimy garden slugs that seem to come in many colours
Poor you with another fractured rib and hope it mends quickly. The new café with the gluten free goodies sounds wonderful
Have a good rest of the week ............

Back LW, great to have you back with us. Glad your neighbour is on the mend, although still needing help, as I said earlier I know he's helped you a lot in the past with fences, and things, so its nice to help in return.
I shall strictly have to control this page, haven't got a clue what your on about, and those blokes are. Anyway you two should be supporting BBB Carol.
Have a great time on your trip Lai, just in case I don't catch you before you go
Don't worry about catching up to much LW, it's just great to have you back with us
