Meet Bibi
Hello everyone. I'm so sorry it's been too long since I've posted. My work schedule has me rarely getting home before 8 or 9 PM and what free time i have has been occupied by the newest member of my family. I have been wanting another dog since I lost Brandi back in 2010 and this Christmas the perfect opportunity came up. When I went to visit mom at Christmas one of her husbands grand children came by and asked if I would be interested in a puppy, they weren't even born at that point. Of course I said yes! Well, the litter was born on January 8th and I got pick of the litter. On February 16th I brought her home for the first time. I wanted to give her a name that started with a "B" to honor Brandi, my Baby Girl. It also seemed fitting, since she is a Rottweiler, to give her a name that had a powerful lineage. With that said, I would like to introduce Bibi.
This is the first picture I took when I got her home.
Bibi and Mr Piggles meet for the first time, taken the same night.
This was taken a week or so ago, just looking cute!
This one was taken Sunday. She.s growing like a weed! She is 9 weeks old today, March 13.
I hope everyone is doing well and I will try to keep you updated on how she is doing. I think she is going to be a pretty big girl, she's at least twice as big today as she was the day I brought her home and it's only been 3 weeks!

She is beautiful Ronnie I've seen pics of Bibi you put on FB, and she's really grown. Just shown Mrs S, and she fell in love with her straight away. Great pics of her, especialy with Mr Piggles, how does she get on with your other Cats ?. Bibi is really a brilliant name for her, as you say another really powerful lady.

Re: Meet Bibi
They don't have any problems sleeping in the bed together but I think for Piggles the jury is still out!
These were taken last Sunday.
He's still not sure yet, he was bigger than her at first, but not anymore!
She gets on with the other dog, PennyLane, great too. They have become best buddies.
So far everyone is getting along great.
PennyLane really is good about playing with her, even lets her win sometimes!

Re: Meet Bibi
Wow Ronnie what a beautiful puppy Bibi is and what a great choice of name, presumably after Bibi the lioness?
I just love the photo of Piggles looking at Bibi with a certain amount of aloofness but it's wonderful that Bibi and PennyLane are getting on so well. I bet they will all end up as best friends in no time.
Lovely to hear from you and to see your photos.

Hi Ronnie
How lovely to hear from you again, we have missed you on here, work needs to give you and early mark so you can get on here more often
How adorable is Bibi, I love Rotties and she is a real cutie but I reckon she is going to be a big Rottie when she is fully grown. I too thought of Bibi the Lioness and thought that may be where the name came from and agree it's a fantastic choice of name.
I wonder who will rule the roost, Mr Piggles or Bibi......bet it's Mr Piggles
Looks like Pennylane and Bibi are becoming firm friends which is lovely, dogs do love playing together don't they.
Fantastic pictures Ronnie and again great to have you around.

Re: Meet Bibi
It really is nice to hear from you all. Bibi does get her name from the grand old lady of the Marsh Pride. I really think it fits her well. She really has been quite a joy for me. I'll try to post later this weekend a few more pics.
Hope everyone has a nice weekend.

Re: Meet Bibi
Hi Ronnie, good to see you back posting on here again
Bibi is just gorgeous and thank you for posting all the pictures of her. Loving the ones with Mr Piggles looking on in the foreground - one does definitely not look best pleased at the new addition to your household. Still give it time and I'm sure you will all be one big happy family soon - Penylane certainly seems to be happy with her new friend
Keep the pictures coming

Re: Meet Bibi
Hey guys! Sorry I haven't posted sooner. finally got around to putting this one up. It snowed here today and I couldn't get any good pics because they were following me around but I got this video the last time it snowed. Bibi and PennyLane really have become fast and best friends, and that makes it alot easier on us! Just a short cute video of Bibi's first real snow. I drove over 200 miles in a rain/snow mix the night I picked her up but she, and I for that matter, didn't get to enjoy it. This is from March 13th. She's even bigger now, kinda looks like a baby buff with the huge legs! I'll try to get a pic in a bit and get it up. She already weighs about 25 pounds and will be 11 weeks old this Tuesday.

Hi Ronnie

Re: Meet Bibi
Hey guys! Got a few pretty good shots of Bibi and PennyLane Easter Sunday. I think if you go back to the shot of her and Mr. Piggles on the first day and then see these you will see she is really growing fast! Her huge feet and legs remind my of a baby Cheetah! Lol!
They were taking a break from playing around.
Then back to playtime! I have found out that for some reason she does not like the leash. I was going to take her for a walk today around the neighborhood but that didn't go very well. She started screaming like I was beating her and pulling against the leash even before we got to the door. I've never had or even seen a dog react like that before. PennyLane gets excited and waits at the front door ready to go like every other dog I've had. Maybe if I take PennyLane and leave her she'll decide she'd rather go than be left behind.

Re: Meet Bibi
Ronnie she certainly has grown, and you know what they say big paws, big dog. Those are two lovely shots, love the way they are lying together clearly the best of pals already. Strange about the lead thing, if our Misty heard a noise she did'nt like or something had upset her she would just go falt on her belly, and you could'nt move her apart from dragging her. I wonder if she associates it with something bad ?

Re: Meet Bibi
WS she has nothing to associate the leash with, good or bad at this point. She was not quite 6 weeks old when I got her. She's never been on one yet. She's actually the first dog I've gotten right from the start. Baby Girl was mistreated before I got her, she never acted like that. I'm kinda confused about it. She's barely 3 months old at this point (13 Weeks) so hopefully seeing how PennyLane reacts will help. As you can see from the pics, I don't generally leave collars on all the time. I put them on when they are going somewhere. Baby Girl would get excited when I even picked up her collar. She'd go wait at the front door knowing she was going out to "explore". I didn't put it on just to go in the back yard. PennyLane is the same way, she knows when her collar is on she's probably going out front. She's still really young and goofy even though she's getting so big. I'm sure it will work itself out. It's just that, same as with Baby Girl, she's gonna be a pretty big dog and all these things need to be worked out while she's young. She already knows how to sit, and is for the most part housebroken so she's pretty smart. They say Rotti's can be hardheaded and stubborn. If that's all it is it will all work itself out. (I hope anyway. Lol!) This is kinda the double edge sword of having PennyLane as a playmate. Like Cheza and Sala from BCD, only Bibi is gonna be a lot bigger than PennyLane soon and is already big enough to give and take when they rough house. She might already be getting too big for her breeches! She's gotta learn the order of the pack I think.

Lovely pics of Bibi and PennyLane Ronnie and she certainly has grown and I love those huge feet.
That's really odd about the lead, I wonder why? I am sure it's something you'll sort out, I think the first time Tamu went on the lead she hated it, but not to the point of screaming. Perhaps trying it on in the house without you holding the end so she can just walk around with it might help. I am sure there is advice out there somewhere on the internet.
Good luck and thanks for sharing your photos.

What beautiful pics Ronnie! Bibi is indeed a cutey pie!
I have never heard of this leash/lead issue either, but I think that Lai's suggestion of putting it on without you holding it in the house is a good idea.

Re: Meet Bibi
Oh my Ronnie, she is growing up sooooo fast
What an absolutely gorgeous face she has and I love the pictures of her and PennyLane together, it's great that they are bonding and getting on so well. PennyLane must be loving the fact that she's now got a full time 4 legged play friend !!!
Very strange about the lead What about a harness instead of a collar ? I know you still have to use a lead but it may help if its attached to the harness instead, just an idea.
