Hello baby: Touching moment orangutan cradles her newborn infant after camera crew capture birth for first time:
Dana gave birth to baby at Jersey's Durrell Wildlife Conservation Trust
Footage shows her holding the infant and then cleaning it
It is believed to be first time Sumatran orangutan birth has been filmed

Brilliant find Doogs thanks. The full video will be shown in a programe called Refugees Of The Lost Rain Forest on Sunday 14th July on BBC 1 South West only Channel 962 on Freesat, not sure what number on Sky or anything else, but it will be available on BBC i Player for 7 days after

Oh My Goodness, how wonderful is that and you can see how proud mum is of her new daughter. Just realised I got so carried away looking at the photo's and reading the article I forgot to watch the clip, will go back to that in a second.
I think Harta is gorgeous name especially as it means gift and she really has been given a gift when they thought she would never have another baby, so I think the name is more than fitting and should stay and not go to competition but thats just my thoughts.
I hope I am able to see the documentary on sky, if not I will look out for it on iplayer........right off to see the video.......thanks for the article Doogs and the info on the documentary WS.......off I go again
