A Video of how to post a photo in the New Editor Format

Emebed Videos download work in Google Chrome, but not in Internet Explorer
WS

Addtional Information

You can if you wish vary the size of your Photo by entering a number in the width or hight Box. You will need to experiment with what number to use. A figure of 200 in the width box gives you a small photo, as an example to give you somewhere to start.

Smilies

The Smilies are now all together rather than in seperate catagories, as LW set up spending so much time doing it Mad .
They all appear in a block, and are really small. However they do appear in the order they were before. With all the general/jokes ones at the top of the block, and our animal ones at the bottom. They are just difficult to identify, but I suppose we will get used to them.
Thats all I've been able to do tonight. If anyone has any problems, or issues please let me know on this thread, and I will do my best my best to help

WS

Additional Information
You need to make sure you are putting a space before, and after any smilie otherwise only the words of the smilie appear

Thanks WS.  I lost all internet connection last night so only managed to post twice and noticed the changes but that was as far as I got.

What a shame after all the hard work Littlewid put in.

Thanks for all the advice and help.

New Forum Editor Empty PM Problem Update

Post  whitestarling Thu Jun 13, 2013 1:09 pm

I have been on to Forumotion Admin Team all morning dealing with the PM issue first

I have done tests on the Forum with one of their support Guys it appears there's a bug with PMing using Internet Explorer. Since I asked the question, other Forums using the same format as WAA, are having the same problem.

We have discovered however that the PM works if you use Google Chrome, so if wish to post, and receive PMs at the moment please use the Google Chrome browser to view WAA

Ok Guys my hands are tied at the moment untill their Tach people sort things out. I will keep you updated. There are also lts of complaints about the size of the Smilies, and they are looking into that for a fix, as well as the size of the text in the posting box. So lots going on at the moment. As I said before if you do need to PM you can use the email option
WS

PS I have just tried posting embeded Videos from You Tube it again works in Google Chrome, but not in Internet Explorer, a lot of these bugs seem to be associated with IE

Thanks for all that you have done WS and I agree the smilies are a tad small. What a shame after all the effort of sorting them nicely for us all.

I use Google Chrome so I will try Pm'ing later, does anyone use GC on here?

Thanks for keeping us up to date WS.

I use both IE, and Chrome. Normaly IE, as I feel it's easier doing Admin for the Forum, and Chrome for viewing Web Cams, and things like that as its faster. I remember you downloading Chrome when you were having problems with the speed of your old PC I think you've found it easy enough ?
I will use Chrome later so you can PM if you want.

Yes, I did thanks WS.  It's under another thread as Doogs was mentioning it.

I don't use Google chrome on either my laptop or my PC at work.  I can swap over if it becomes a problem.

Dont bother swapping at the moment Lai. Hopefully they will come up with a fix quickly. Lots of Forum Admins are complaining. Most peoples work PCs are IE based so its affecting a lot of people. As I said if you need to send a private message use the email contact facility.

I presume from reading the posts these changes were enforced on us by the 'supplier' and not something you and LW decided to do ?

New Forum Editor Empty Re: New Forum Editor

Post  whitestarling Fri Jun 14, 2013 5:59 pm

Yes Doogs it was supposed to be a new improved Editor from Forumotion thats was just done by them without any warning. The first I new about it was when you said your screen was freezing when trying to reply to PM's. It took me a while to figure out what was going on. Checked everything I could think of, then I noticed in Administration that there had been a New Editor update. I then went onto the Forum of the Forums, and found that they had opened a Topic about it. I was one of the first to bring up the freeze problem, it appears that the Tech people have done a Beta Editor version. There are different formats for Forums, some with templates, and some without, ours is one without templates. The new editor dose'nt work with all the the Formats its affecting different ones different ways so there's multiple problems at the moment. I managed to get one of their support Guys, after a few posts I had to create a tempory account on our Forum for him to check the PMing, thats how we found out about it only freezing in EI, I then tried the Video embeded link for you tube that did'nt work in IE, and found that it worked in Chrome, as well as PMing. There is still loads to sort out, when the Topic started I was on page one, within in a few hours it was upto 11 pages. So its a question of waiting to see what fixs they come up with. A lot of Admins are very angry at whats gone on, and some Forums are in danger of going down. There is also a very big problem with people trying to access Forums on Mobile devices they are crashing as well. So all in all a mess at the moment, and a very big headache as you say. But at least we are relativley safe without to many problem that affect us, and we've found ways round the problems. It did at one stage get to the Valum or Boddies stage, but Boddies won the day, and all is calm. I will keep checking as there's loads of stuff coming through on the Forum of the Forums Topic page

Phew, I thought I was just no longer popular  New Forum Editor 40683

Such a shame for LW after all the hard work she did with the smileys. And sounds like you are having a really rough time of it WS. A big thank-you for all your efforts to keep the WAA up and running, and as smoothly as possible. I for one would be devastated if the entire forum was lost. Thanks also for the tips on using smileys and photos and everything else  You the man

New Forum Editor Empty Photo Posting Update

Post  whitestarling Sat Jun 15, 2013 6:45 pm

affraid Just to confuse things even more. Posting photos in Chrome is not working at the moment. Instead of saying Browse when you click to upload a photo it says choose file, but when you've chosen the file, and clicked host it then ask it to copy nothing happens.
But it still does work in IE, upload there as normal.
So you can PM with Google, and Post Pics with IE.
Now where did I put that can of Boddies

New Forum Editor Kian_010

I have just posted this picture using Google Chrome. You are right it does say choose a file but when you click on that it takes you to your pictures, click on the picture you want and then it comes up next to the choose a file box, then click on host, it then comes up with  the three lines ( sorry cant remember what they are now), click on the bottom one and its highlighted, then right click and then click copy that comes up in the options, then click on the insert image box on the menu bar, then left and right click in the top http box and your image code comes up then hit the insert box at the bottom and your picture loads into your post.
I think the great thing is that your picture actually loads and not just the link like it used to do. I really like this.

I doubt if I have explained the picture hosting well, it is getting late for me geek but it is really quite easy but then again I may have misunderstood the problem about posting a picture.
