Hungry lion misses out on a snack when a pigeon flies into its cage
and escapes by the skin of its teeth

The pigeon flew straight at the big cat's cage in Adelaide Zoo, Australia
The lion armed with his killer claws and sharp teeth pounced on the bird

Luckily, the bird flew to see another day escaping from the lion's jaws

Phew that was a close call for the Pigeon, glad it got away, as the Lion will not go hungry being in a Zoo. I think they got the headline wrrong though, as Pigeons dont have teeth. It should have been By the skin of the Lions teeth

I read that story and it was too close for comfort and I am so relieved that the Pigeon got away, he lost a few feathers but at least he still had his life, thank heavens. As you say WS, the lion is in a zoo so there is no way he was going to be hungry, he didnt need to have the little Pigeon as well. How scared must that Pigeon have been though.

What a lucky bird! Laughing

I guess that for the lions (or any cats) it is not about being hungry, it is more about hunting. Wink
