Dolphins Doomed by the Japanese
Again the Japanese are at the fore front of another wildlife story and not in a good way. Although no Dolphins have been slaughtered yet, many will be or driven out to sea without their elders for guidance and survival.
This has so angered me this morning and again they are using the term cultural, that is so loosely bandied about when they know they are doing wrong. Its all just despicable. Hate is a very strong term to use against someone or a race but I have to use it here.

Re: Dolphins Doomed by the Japanese
Thanks for the link Littlewid. This is something I follow on FB, and the stories are horrendous and brutal and quite sickening, not to mention the photos.
The dolphins belong in the wild as do whales and I agree with you 100% Littlewid.

'Hate' is an appropriate word on this occasion LW, what a truly shocking/horrible story - man at it's very worst in the treatment of these poor Dolphins

Re: Dolphins Doomed by the Japanese
I dont know about culture to me its more like culpable murder. No hate is not to strong a word LW, I agree with you. I saw clips of when this first shown, for that film, and was horrendous to watch the poor animals threshing about for their lives, and not able to escape. It hits home even harder after watching the Dolphin Pod prgrame just how hard it will hit them, even if some are allowed to go free, their future will be devastated by the loss of the older Dolphins of the pod.

Sadly here is another story about the same Dolphins. It looks as though the mother of the baby albino Dolphin took her own life. I didn't realise Dolphins did this as conscious breathers but apparently it does happen quite a lot. Dolphins get incredibly distressed in captivity or stressful situations and that's when they do it. This mother hunted for her baby and then took her own life. The bloody Japanese have so much to answer for, its untrue.

Re: Dolphins Doomed by the Japanese
I have tried to read that and look at the photos but not the clip, it is too distressing and deeply shocking. I had no idea dolphins could chose not to breath and am sad that man is yet again causing so much pain and anguish to all wildlife.
Having watched the dolphin programme with the cams you realise just what amazing creatures they are and to read this article is truly sickening.

Re: Dolphins Doomed by the Japanese
That is truely horrifying, and disgusting. They have tried to use the excuse that this is part of their culture, and tradition, which is actuly a load of lies. It did'nt start untill 1969, when they first perpertrated this barbaric act. It's all about making money they found they could make a fortune by selling the captured Dolphins to different countries all round the world including Russia, America, and any country with sea world type centres. So if you ever see Dolphins in any places the odds are they came from, or have been born to Dolphins captured in the cove over the years so please dont encourage this by buying a ticket to see them.

Doogs but sadly it's probably only people who care who have voted. The more I see of this the more sick I feel about it.
