Fred celebrates his centenary with a letter from The Queen

Fred, a sulphur-crested cockatoo, celebrates his 100th birthday at Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary outside Hobart
Members of the public joined in on the celebration at the Sanctuary, dressing up as a cockatoo and having their face painted
To mark this special milestone, Buckingham Palace sent him a letter
Cockatoos in the wild usually live till 40-years-old
Fred is very healthy and has not been to the vet in 10-years

WOW http://i73.servimg.c Happy Birthday Fred. I knew they could live to a ripe old age, but nowhere near 100.

WOW WOW WOW How amazing is Fred and there is the possibility that he is even older than 100........great respect to Fred. I had no idea they could live to that age, maybe it has something to being in captivity and not in the wild and he must obviously be extremely well cared for and he must also be very happy.
Thats a lovely story and thanks for posting it Doogs.
