Donald & Daisy have Baby's

Post  whitestarling on Tue Jul 13, 2010 1:48 pm

Donald & Daisy are pround to announce they are Parents to two ducklings born over night, with another nine eggs in the nest. Daisy is brooding the Ducklings, and incubating the other eggs. This is a shot of Daisy on her nest in one of the outbuildings on the Farm where we live. Unfortnately it's not very clear, as its only a small digital camera at maximum zoom as we dont want to disturb her, as she's understandably very defensive at the moment

Ducklings 1st Trip Outside

Post  whitestarling on Thu Jul 15, 2010 9:28 am

I was seeing Mrs S off to work this morning about 7-40am she had just gone round the corner after saying keep an eye out for Donald & Daisy, and the Ducklings they might bring them out today. I shut the door looked out the window, and there they were toddeling down to the pond, and I'd still got my dressing gown on affraid affraid . I dashed into the airing cupboard did a quick twirl, and grabbing my camera on the way burst out of the front door like Superman. Well perhaps with not as much hair, and a little bit more weight, but at least the underpants were on the inside lol!
I got some pics, as before they are not great because of working on full zoom so as not to disturb them to much especialy as it was their first venture into the big wide world

Sorry got carried away with the Pics lol!
Daisy was showing them what to eat, and where to find it. They were foraging away straight off. Then Donald took over so Daisy could have a bit of peace on her own.

I've got some Videos to upload, but because my connection is so slow it takes ages, about 20 mins for a 1 min Video affraid . So they will be on later.

WS

No I'm not dizzy LW although watching these Ducklings I could be you cant believe they are only a couple of days old the way they wizz around on the water, and I've still got my tights on Lia the winds rather chilly lol!

Donald & Daisy's lap of honour

I'm working the next couple of days so I wont get much of a chance to do any more pics or vids till Monday Donald & Daisy fetch the Ducklings out for about 1/2 Hour then they take them back to bed for a snooze, so we dont see them all the time
