Winter Watch 2010
Winter is now upon us all and the snow is falling again. Autumn has come and gone so now it's time for all our beautiful Winter photo's.
Here you can place all your winter scenes, winter flowers, pets having fun in the winter snow or on winter walks or cats by the fireside and our birds at their feeders.
Lets make this thread a cheery winter thread to give us all a smile in this chilly winter.

Re: Winter Watch 2010
Don't those pics look lovely with the snow and the sunshine, really nice PPH and a great place for wildlife to hang out.
We have quite a lot of snow here today that arrived overnight and we are expected to have about 20cm overnight tonight. It's too dark for pics now but hopefully tomorrow I will be able to get a few to post.

Great photos PPH and WS.
WS Jets tracks are like those in the sky. He does not act like a cat in the snow, he goes nut. The tracks are actually skid marks where he runs, stops and spins. Or better still he loves chasing snowballs but goes crazy cause when they land in the snow they disappear.

Lovely photos PPH, its really nice to have somewhere so close by thats a little oasis for wildlife. SM that sounds just like our Misty when she was a bit younger. She really went mad when the snowball disappeared

Re: Winter Watch 2010
Last year I posted pics of my walk around the village with the dogs in the snow, so this year I took Nero down into the village and got a few snaps. I had to walk where the snow was the shallowist otherwise Nero would have disappeared in it, so this is our not so snowy parts of the village from this morning.
This is a little alleyway we walk through
One way in and out, it's up a hill and that road is a sheet of ice from where they have cleared it
The village pub.....you'd get a damp bum on those seats
A view of the village church from one of the little lanes
Church on the right and library on the left. That road is a hill as well and just sheer ice, I saw a few silly peeps trying to drive up there this morning.....they just kept sliding backwards
The trees by the side of the church
Dont think anyone will be parking in the church car park today
The centre of the village
The village postbox looks rather christmassy
The last of the Autumn Leaves with the Winter Snow
Not a very good shot but it's a berry tree with no leaves left, Nero was tugging me and I couldn't focus the camera very well.
Thats probably bored you enough, so I will post a few of round my house a little later.

Re: Winter Watch 2010
Although the snow has gone for most of us now I thought i would post a few more of just outside my house and a couple in the back garden.
This was the view from my bedroom window
My little Berry Bush
My little garden
This tree is almost obliterated by the snow, it has beautiful blue flowers on in the summer
Anyone want to sit down
Now it's all gone.

Re: Winter Watch 2010
Wow you had a lot more snow than we did LW. Ours came in dollops a couple of inches at a time where as yours looks as though it arrived all together. Wonderful pics, well it looks lovely on the screen, but not nice to have to cope with.
PPH I think the Bird you have captured on your Phone is a Pied Wagtail, not a Long Tailed Tit. It's unusual for Tits to walk on the Road, but Wagtails do, they have a quick almost running walk. You did well to get a Picture at all. There are Pics of the Pied Wagtail, and the Long Tailed Tis on my Meet the Birds post. So if you have a look, you might be able to tell which one it is
