I think they must have decided the sound was too much - so today the gannets are busy, squabbling with each other

I'm pleased I'm not there!

It's worth having a look at this cam again - as it changes every 10 seconds but some great scenes and birds.

http://www.seabird.org/webcam-live.asp

Live streaming - live action!

We have lots of live webcams and the action below will change every 10 seconds - what will you see? Something new every time you visit!

These cameras are controlled by visitors at the Discovery Centre. Fancy controlling the cameras for yourself? You can book your tickets online for the Centre and select what you would like to view on the famous Bass Rock, the Isle of May and Craigleith.

There is also the chance to see a whole host of wildlife on our boat trips from March to October - see wildlife boat trips.

See our wildlife film highlights and our other live wildlife webcams.

This is one Web Cam we will need to keep an eye on from next month when the Seals come in

I think this could be a good one to watch later this year, pity I did'nt find it before. There are also other Cams although not streaming they take an image every 5 secs

Considering we are swealtering in the heat in the South it looks and sounds a very wet and blustery day in Scotland. The cam is very busy panning around so really hard to get a good shot. I think they are definiately looking for seals as they keep looking out to sea. Hopefully it wont be long before they arrive.
This is how bleak it looks there today.

It looked quite rough there today WS, you could hear the wind blowing in the microphone and the birds feathers were getting quite ruffled.

Just spotted a couple of Seal Pups, no sign of Mum

Not sure if the second one is a Pup or not ?
Just got a closer shot, it does'nt seem to have moved. Just lying on its back. The first one is moving though

Just got a second shot of the first one

Oh boy WS, those are very new pups aren't they. There were definiately no pups when I looked the other day. Looks like we need to keep a close eye from now on. I hope that second little pup on it's back is ok.

I did see the second one move after, but the web cam moved to quick to get a shot
The first one was quite alert, and moving around the rocks

No sign of any adult Seals though. I will try to check again tomorrow

Re: Seal Cam

Post  littlewid on Wed Oct 05, 2011 5:48 am

It's hard to tell isn't it WS but it could be. It is a bit of a bleak place when the tide is rough but I wonder if that affords the seal pups a bit of protection? I'm sure as the days go on now we will see more seal pups and mums to be. I am in this evening so will try and check the cam when I get in from work as well before it gets too dark there.

Checked this morning, and its not, but saw one of the Seal Pups, and it's moving OK, although the weather's still a bit rough. No sign of adult Seals

The sound's on a loop, keeps repeating although the Pics are different. Strange scratch

Just checked again, and the Seal Pup's with its Mum, having a feed
