Re: Toki Update
I totally agree T/Sbros it was such a moving story and who knows how long Toki survived against all the odds.

There's alway a chance, and hope with wildlife T/Sbrosh we may never know, although as Lai says Toki could have carried on and had a Family.

T/Sbros, Thank you for coming on and leaving your comment and I agree with you that animals teach us so much about Loyalty, Courage & sacrifice but sadly they are not always given the respect they deserve. Toki's story has captured so many peoples hearts and he will live on in so many peoples hearts to.

Hope for Toki
I saw the documentary about Toki & Sambu a few years ago & felt awful when they lost their mom & then shed tears with Simon when Sambu was killed by a lion. I kept up with Toki's story but am saddened that he may no longer be with us. Hopefully he's still out there somewhere, living wild & free. He would be about 10 yrs old now

Re: Toki Update
Toki & Sambu touched many a peoples hearts Profwood and many of us still hope that Toki is out there somewhere. 10 years would be a great age for a male cheetah and it would be lovely to think he was still roaming around but even Simon has his doubts sadly.

Re: Toki Update
Hi Proofwood good to see another Cheetah lover on the forum
The story of Toki and Sambu was such a rollercoaster of emotions - many highs but the ultimate low when Simon lost Sambu Even if Toki has gone to join his brother in the savannah in the sky at least he got to live as he should have, as a wild cheetah and we'll always be thankful to Simon and Ol Pejeta for giving him that chance
In December 2011 Simon and others, including a friend Stephen looked for Toki, unfortunately without success. A quote from Stephen after they had looked “He has taught me so much. He taught me to stand up for myself and not to depend on others or expect others to help me survive. Toki was a survivor”.
