Great news PPH and wonderful that you are going back today. You'll be an expert on birds before you know it, actually I think you are anyway
Enjoy today.

Re: Job Hunting
thanks for the vote of confidence Lai
When I was sorting through the pin badges to send to the volunteers I was sub consciously sorted the species into raptors, wading birds, sea birds etc.

Re: Job Hunting
I start a temp job tomorrow for an month, its just a normal job and not what I want to do but it gives me a bit more money and experience.
I hate leaving the RSPB as I have really loved working there but I have said that if they still want me at the end of the month then I'll be back. I may not last a month as I have been very good with my redundancy money so I don't really need to work for a few more months so if I don't like the work I may leave early.
I will still keep on looking for work in the charity sector and maybe something will come up with the RSPB

Re: Job Hunting
Good Luck for tomorrow PPH. I know it is only temporary and you dont need the work at the moment, but prospective employers like to see continuous employment on your CV, so good on you for giving it a go anyway.
Let us know how you are getting on.

Re: Job Hunting
Well, I went there and I decided it wasn't for me. It wasn't enjoying it and it was very boring work. So back to the RSPB volunteering for the near future. I know though that I did give the temp job a go and as I sad before I am very lucky that my redundancy will see me through for a few more months

Re: Job Hunting
Thanks WS
The RSPB has said they would have me back anytime as I've done such good work. That's always nice to hear that people appreciate the work you do and I'll keep on looking for a job I want and that will make a difference

Re: Job Hunting
had my first interview today since being made redundant. It wasn't for a job with a charity but it was an admin job for a local car dealership. Its really hard getting a job working for a charity as they are normally part time or very low paid. The economic situation doesnt help either.
I will let you know what happens

Best of Luck PPH, fingers X. The charity side must be really tough as you say with everyone cutting back, and they do rely on volunteers so much anyway

Re: Job Hunting
I haven't heard about the last job I went for but I have got another interview tomorrow. Again its for a job I can easily do and don't really want it but its a job and itll keep me busy until I find a job I want
What is annoying is that I haven't been paid for the temp job I had which didnt last, the company is saying that I walked out despite the fact that I offered to stay the rest of the day and was told to go home and also they signed my timesheet to say I did the work.
Really annoying

Re: Job Hunting
Good luck with the interview PPH. That's terrible re the temp job, surely if they signed your time sheet they must pay you? Hoping you can sort that out.
I am sure the right job will come up. How are things at the RSPB?
