Re: Job Hunting
PPH I am soooooo pleased for you. I really hope the hours and the money are suitable for you as I know it's a job you would love to have........and they obviously want you. Doing your voluntary work for them has well and truely paid off and I am genuinely very happy for you.
Sensible about the job at the post office, never throw anything away until your 100% certain.....wise girl PPH.
I'm well chuffed for you......I will do a little dance

Re: Job Hunting
got a phone call this morning to confirm I start work at the post office on Monday. AAARRRGGGHH its a bit scary now that after 4 months I am back to work. They are so short staffed they need me to start before having my training. My training starts on the 31st August for 8 days in Wolverhampton

Re: Job Hunting
Great news PPH - has it really been 4 months? Time really does fly. I'm sure you'll be fine, but a bit of a shock and nothing like being thrown in at the deep end before your training
Fingers crossed it all goes well for you.

Re: Job Hunting
Thanks for the happy thoughts everyone, August is probably a good month to start work as I actually have some time off planned. I am going to a local music festival for the 11th to the 13th and then also my partner and I have a trip to York planned between the 23rd and 26th so at least it won't be a full on month of work

Re: Job Hunting
I had a very good if tiring first day, everyone is really nice but my feet hurt so I think a long hot soak in the bath and a glass or two of red wine is in order

Re: Job Hunting
Make sure you get that the right way round PPH Their going to have to be Big Glasses to get your feet in . I do sympathise though, I know what it's like when I do the Pub for a fortnight, because my feet ar'nt used to it thay really throb at fiest, byt as the time goes on they get used to it again.

Re: Job Hunting
Glad you had a good first day PPH and that everyone is friendly, that always makes work much nicer doesn't it. It will be even nicer at the end of the week when you get your first pay packet......unless it's monthly pay Enjoy the rest of your evening and hope the feet are feeling better after a good old soak in the bath.

Re: Job Hunting
its monthly pay. It won't be too bad as the only reason I'm on my feet is that I'm not trained to be behind the counter so I've been out on the post office floor helping people by getting forms and using the automatic post machine. Once I'm trained itll be a nice comfy chair behind the counter, better still I don't have to do a full month as next week I will be enjoying myself at a local music festival and at the end of the month I have 4 days away up in York

Glad it all went well PPH. Your poor feet, standing all day. I hope you had a good soak in the bath to revive them.

Re: Job Hunting
the vacancy the RSPB told me about before I left has come up on their webiste. Ive put a link below so you can see it but it looks like its been created just for me. Its everything I did while I was there and at a salary level that I could live on. Definitely going to apply for it

Re: Job Hunting
That does sound ideal PPH and as you say, it is what you were doing for them. I'm sure you will be having your little breaks from the Post Office and then waving them Goodbye ......Get that form filled in PPH and get it sent off toot sweet
