Tawny Owl Calling

We've just had a majic few minutes. Mrs S heard a Tawny Owl calling I've just had my PC playing Tawny Owl calls with the window open, and its calling back each time I do it. affraid

better stop though the neighbours will be complaining. I have to say it was brilliant though to hear it respond

No Lai my neighbours dont think I'm barking, depending on their sense of humour they think I'm a Twit or a Hoot

Do you know which sex says which call?there is a difference and you can tell if it's a male or female calling.

As explained on a wildlife programme the other day, sadly I can't remember which programme, but at the time I thought, that's great I must remember that!

I did use a site that had 3 calls on it, but all it said was Young, Adult 1, Adult 2. I will try to find out after the weekend when I finish work

Yes, that was it TB. It wasn't Springwatch as it isn't on yet, but something similar.

That really does sound like a joke TB but I believe you. I will be listening for any owl sounds I hear now and will try and recognise them.

I brought 3 new books today and one was a book called Wesley, it's a true story about a four day old Barn Owl.....my nose is going to be in it this evening Owl 2
