Daniel Craig to replace Sir David Attenborough

Post  littlewid on Sun May 01, 2011 7:17 pm

Just read this. At first I was a bit shocked but I think he will do a great job. What do you think?

that's a tricky one, he may be very good, I don't really know what he has done apart from James Bond (which i didn't like) so it will be interesting to see. David Attenborough is so fantastic, to follow in his footsteps is quite an ask.

Thanks for the link Littlewid.

I'm not a Bond fan either Lai but I do think he has a nice voice, which is a help, also in the article he seemed to have a genuine respect for DA and the Nature unit so I suppose that is also a good start; however, DA has years of experience with wildlife and has a unique insight whereas DC appears to be a novice. I think he will narrate very well but I am wondering if we will miss the genuine insight and passion that DA has, as you say he is so fantastic they would be hard shoes for anyone to fill but I am looking forward to seeing what he does and at least DA is working on another docummentary, albeit his last one.

That's just the point Littlewid, and you hit the nail on the head. DA has a genuine passion and understanding and I love the way even now on his last series he was there lying on a rock or the ground or wherever, up close and personal with what he was discussing.

Daniel Craig I am sure will be good and maybe they need someone completely different so they can't be compared. Surprised

Well DA, has to be replaced sometime, his presentations are special, and down to the Man, and his years of knowledge. I dont think anyone can replicate that in the same way. Whether DC can replace him as a viable presenter, I think we can only wait, and see. The thing that really interests me is that this series is not funded by liecense payers, but is a money making project, that will bring wildlife to our screens. The question is could it be used as a platform for a programe like BCD
