Often on Africam all you get is the beautiful bird sounds and no animals but its kind of nice checking them out and listening too them but the animals are rather elusive at times arent them.....they must know we are checking in on them.

Thanks Lai, sadly I will be working so will not be able to tune in. Hopefully either you or WS will be able to take pics and post about it. I wished I could sign in at work for a decent length of time instead of a very quick sneeky peek but i cant get the cams to work at work, our thingy blocks the cams sadly.

I am pleased that there is a Rhino day in support of them I love you

Watched Africam just now - and feel sure they will post something in the archive.

There is a blue button today for Rhino day which shows some clips and is good to watch.

I had both EP and Nkorho Pan on and they started at EP blowing a lot of vuvuzela (ouch it's a painful noise, no wonder there were no animals around). Then showed Nkorho Pan, same thing lots of vuvuzela and then over the other side of the water the ladies sang and danced, much nicer sound.

Not a Rhino in sight - and can you blame then affraid but great to make a noise about them cheers

Then they all drove off .............. let's hope it's raised awareness.

Sounds noisy but i bet it was really good to watch Lai, I wished I had been able to see it. Did you manage to get any snaps of it on MW3snap? Those Vuvuzela's are pretty hard on the ears aren't they Very Happy but as you say, lets hope it has raised awareness for the Rhino.

Hope you didn't forget your wallet if mrs S managed to hit the shops WS Very Happy

Sounds of Africam birds

Post  Laikipia on Wed Nov 24, 2010 3:09 pm

Just discovered this on Africam - great if you want to listen to the various birds songs and in most cases it has a photo as well. It should help with the webcams when all you can hear is birds and you can't see anything in view!

Thats a brilliant find Lai cheers i've just listened to the African Scops Owl....very noisy and the Barn Owl, Just brilliant, it really is going to help identify the birds we see on the cams. I love listening to bird sounds (so did Tiga when I played those two, it woke him up and he trotted over to the PC very interested Very Happy ). I also love the fact its on media player so you get all the sound wave pictures as well.
So glad you found this Lai, I love it bounce
