Yawning Big Cats !

Old Snaggletooth looks like it's even too much effort to yawn that is a wonderful photo Doogs, he looks absolutely shattered doesn't he
The little cub is demonstrating a grand effort there but has a long way to go to catch up with the Olkiombo Junior The single female has a ferocious yawn on her, wouldn't want to get too close to her and Shakira........forever the star, what a fantastic photo of her and no wonder you have it as a large canvas print, it deserves pride of place.

As a new member, I have only just read this thread. You have some great photos Doogs, particularly the cheetah. Its great fun and frustrating trying to capture the moment the yawn occurs; it seems to be a combination of patience, anticipation and luck! I hope you don't mind but I thought I would also post a few of my favourite 'yawns'









These are a sequence of shots of just one yawn. This guy is quite a character and I will try and post some shots of him hunting, on the Safari Forum at a later date.

Safariman those are wonderful photos. I love them all but especially the cheetah in the first one.

OH MY GOODNESS safariman, those are amazing shots, the second and third one look like they are saying Aaaaaaaaaaaa for the dentist......but not sure I would want to get that close . I really can't pick a favourite out of those as they are all so spectacular and i'm sure Doogs will be pleased you added to this amazing thread.
Loving the sequence shots, it looked as though yawning was a real effort for him, just brilliant and like Lai says, can't wait to see more.
Thanks so much for sharing those, never being on safari means seeing others pics is a real delight.

Those are fantastic shots Safariman, and I'm sure Doogs would be really pleased that you've added to this thread. Like LW, I'm stuck to say which one I like best, they are all so good. As you say with a lot of photos, its being in the right place, at the right time, plus being quick enough to get the shot, and as another whos never ben on Safari its great that you are willing to share your trips with us

Ok, now how did I miss this? Those are really great shots both Doogs and Safariman. I have to agree with WS, I think the little cubs giving it all they have are just adorable. And love the cheetah, actually looks quite fierce!
