Yes it is a very interesting clip Lai and good to see Gerald Bigurube opposing it. It would just be such a disaster if this road goes ahead.

I take it nothing has been confirmed whether the road goes ahead or not ? If that's the case, is there a deadline for making a decision ?

So do I SM. If it is it's a fantastic outcome, and show just what people can do to save the invironment, when everyone pulls together. Lets hope we get official Goverment confirmation soon to support the leaked document

Lai - I have serious doubts about the integrity of the Tanzanian government - they are not committed to protecting the Serengeti - just looking for commercial gain all over and with mismanagement the Serengeti could die! Chinese re courting AFRICA and we all know where that will lead us...

I completely agree Chui they have done so many twists, and turns over this, that I would'nt trust the Tanzanian President or Government as far as I could throw an Elephant. Plus as you say with the involvement of the Chinese it could end up with the whole of the Serengeti paved over, and they would'nt blink an eyelid at doing it

Last I heard it was the context of the road that had changed not the route. They said it was 'remaining' a gravel road. Does it matter what it is made of????? Or has this changed again in the last couple of days?
