Re: Avian Pox in UK
Just read that on SK's tweet - one to look out for and a good reminder about cleaning our bird feeders.
Thanks WS

Look at that ppor bird!!!
We have actually taken our feeder down. We have so many trees in berry behind our house we did not want them becoming 'lazy' for the want of a better word.
We will put it back up for Autumn/Winter, but we always kept it clean especially with the boys about.

I've actually done the same thing SM. There are a lot of berries around at the moment and down one of our lanes we have lots of Blackberries and the like that the birds will eat, plus there are a lot of insects around.
My feeders have been cleaned and put away but will come out again and be cleaned again before they go up later on when it's tougher for the birds.
That is a really sad picture. I live in Sussex but have not seen any sign of this, thank heavens but I will keep an eye out for it and report any cases.

Tragic news - I am checking our birds daily as we have so many Great tits at the feeders at the moment.

I'm checking our as well, upto now they seem OK. The outbreak is in LW's area, which is really sad as you say. I've also heard there's now Avain Malaria in the UK, I'm trying to follow that up

Horsham is only a few miles really from where I live WS, it takes about 30 mins to get there. I haven't seen any sign of it round here but I will surely keep a check on the birds I see and report anything. It sounds very nasty indeed poor little things. It's horrible that it's happening to any birds but also scary it's so close to home.
Thanks for the heads up on it WS.
