Great Black-backed Gull Empty Great Black-backed Gull

We saw 4 Great Black-backed Gulls today, down on the sea front. Unfortunately they were to far out on a sandbank to get any photos of. They usually arrive here towards the end of summer. I checked on the RSPB site for them, and this is what it says

Great Black-backed Gull We52

Looking at the map, North Wales is not in the usual distribution area, and we dont see them through the rest of the year, so I'm wondering if these are Birds coming in to Wintwr. I must remember to ask at our local RSPB Center next time I go. They are a massive Bird, and to see one take off, and fly is really an amazing site

Looks like we are in the zone for them WS but I must admit I haven't seen any yet but that doesn't mean they are not around, it might just be I haven't spotted any yet but I will keep my eyes open for them.
Strange as you say that Wales isn't a usual place for them so maybe they have come for food.
