Glad you are getting paid £££££££££££££'s Doogs and just fantastic that Ian recorded it for you, you will love it, especially those Kingfishers, they were a highlight for me along with those wonderful, beautiful, gorgeous foxes.
Loved the little Mole too Lai, what a treat that was, not sure I would like to be a Mole though, it's such a solitary life and lots of digging but wasn't it just fantastic to see that photo of the little baby moles and he well deserved to be photographer of the year for that one.
So looking forward to tonights and I really like Unsprung, I know it's usually chaotic but it appeals to my nature......mad

Poor things with all those midges last night loved seeing more of the Kingfishers and the inside of their nest. Amazing footage and let's hope we see some babies soon. Also really enjoying the Nuthatch family, such beautiful birds and fingers crossed little runty gets a good meal soon, he was trying so hard.
Looking forward to tonights show and more of the cams.

Re: BBC2 Springwatch 2012
Oh My Goodness, Little Runty, he is just amazing and such a fighter. It was brilliant he got to the entance of the nest yesterday but not so good that mum didn't return at that poit with a beak full of food for him, as you say Lai, lets hope he does better tonight, his fighting spirit is admirable.
Actually those midges were making me itch watching them, there was zillions of them and I think they did really well to present last nights show, I would have been going dotty with them all, especially if they were in my face
Can't wait for tonights show, enjoy everyone

Re: BBC2 Springwatch 2012
I was having a quick look at the web cams this afternoon, and Runty was really fighting for the food, as you will have proberbly seen on tonights show. He's doing really well considering his size, and as Chris said tonight, there might be an advantage if the others fledge in the next couple of days. But I've just seen the Welsh weather forcast, and its not good for Sunday, looks like lots of rain Sunday which wont be good for getting food, and may stop the others from fledging. So everyone keep your fingers X.

I'm afraid to say Guys. Runty has'nt made it . The little fellow passed away at around 7-40am. I was watching at the, time on the web cam, and he was really struggling, all the others were piled on top of him, and I think with the conbined wieght of them he just could'nt breath, and had'nt got the strengh to get from under them. He gave it his best shot, but sadly it was'nt enough.
RIP Runty

sad news WS - poor little Runty, he certainly got everyone behind him supporting him, but nature is hard like that

Re: BBC2 Springwatch 2012
I am truely gutted hearing that WS. I genuinely thought Runty would be fine, I really did think that this little bird was going to defy the odds because he has such spirit. I know nature weadles out the weak but althoug he was the runt of the brood his spirit was enormous and I thought that would carry him through.
I really am very sad.
Rest Peacefully little Runty

A little bit of light relief.
Exchanging glances
Strangers in the night, wondering what are the chances
But no they did'nt bump into each other in the dark

Re: BBC2 Springwatch 2012
WS - love it.
Sad show with the little kingfishers and of course little Runty but also some lovely nest cams to watch. That common sandpiper has me worried by the train track
Just had a look at the 4 cams and those bluetits are growing so quickly, parents in and out all the time, they must be totally exhausted. All very quiet in with the nuthatches.
Going to catch up with Unsprung today.

Re: BBC2 Springwatch 2012
I'm going to try and get on these cams over the weekend Lai, it's been a bit mad this week.
You are not the only one worried about that little Sandpiper, I keep thinking she is going to run too far out and into the track. The train is a huge danger to her but also as they said the night before, foxes could run up that track and that could be devastating for her and her chicks when they hatch.
It was so sad with the Kingfishers first nest but great news that they have a second one now.
Going to miss it tonight, I wonder why it isn't on on a Friday enjoy Unsprung Lai.

Re: BBC2 Springwatch 2012
My biggest worry at the moment is the rain they forcast for Sunday, it's heavy, and prolonged, but there is just a chance it might change. So keep your fingers X Guys, cos it could really affect all the hatchlings. I'll check the forcast again tonight to see if there's any change

Re: BBC2 Springwatch 2012
Fingers crossed the weather isn't too bad this weekend, I feel for all these little birds at the moment with it being hot one day and torrential rain the next.
Enjoyed Unsprung, that Raven was magnificent, just so intelligent.
I also wish it was on tonight - Monday's ages away!

Briliant WS, I have just come off that cam and she wasn't there so thats a fab shot even with her head turned round. I have the usual ones of the chicks etc but nothing stunning to put up.
