Lai, keep telling Pete that Ramsay Street is heaven on Earth
Glad you like the latest pics Mrs Squirrel
The little birdie on the ground was a magpie; the Magpies are Newcastle United! Actually I don't mind the Gunners. One of my favourite players was Dennis Bergkamp, the Dutch wizard. I remember a goal he scored at St. James' Park once which was beyond brilliant. Goal of the season I think. But about ten years ago now. I must be getting old

I have no idea what you are on about GR - you need to talk footie with Doogs. It's not a sport I follow, and if I have to it's Man Utd for me all the way.

That's all right then GR
The moon and jupiter side by side was spectacular last night - I was driving my mum home and what an amazing sight. When I got home the clouds came over so no photos but must check it out again tonight.

The moon has been spectacular here too the last two nights; almost full each time and shining very brightly indeed :)
Lai, I hope that your mum is feeling better now.

Re: Thingys In The Sky
Spotted the little bird was a Magpie GR and yep Newcastle is the Toons, my Brother-in-Law is from Sunderland so there is always the litle bit of rivalry between Newcastle & Sunderland. Nice to know someone else likes the Gunners, SM's hubby TT is also a Gunners fan and Lai mention Manu U.....you will get WS going
Nice Moon shots GR, it is virtualy a full moon, it's lovely

Re: Thingys In The Sky
You're related to a Sunderland fan? Well that just changes everything
The moon was nice and full yesterday too I think, but I didn't have my camera on me.

Re: Thingys In The Sky
Good shots GR. We are lucky at the moment, if we even get a glimpse of the Moon at the moment, with all the cloud, and rain .
A Toon fan Oh well no one can be perfect . Sorry to tell you my team Man Utd beat you 4-3 yesterday. Newcastle played really well especialy given their injury list, but quality will win out in the end, and my second favourite team Sunderland ( Well they where yesterday ) beat Man City 1-0 which increased our lead at the top to 7 pts. Loved Berkamp great player, and although Man U are my team I appreciate any team playing good football. Lai at last someone with good taste in their Football team

To early to say yet GR, we lost an 8 point lead last year with only a few weeks to go. Man U never make it easy on themselves or their fans

that's brilliant WS
Going back a few posts and just putting my tuppence worth in for the Footie Teams - I have been a regular/Season Ticket holder at my local team Aberdeen for the past 38 years As far as English teams go mine is Leicester City (my dad worked with a guy who's brother played for them years ago so I've supported them for a long time but I also have a soft spot for Man Utd (yeah WS) due to them pinching Fergie from us all those years ago - those were the days when we had a really good side at Aberdeen

Re: Thingys In The Sky
Lovely posts WS. I had kinda forgotten about this thread.
I can see the crocodile, but not really the elephant. Then again my eyes are not great! For example I could never get those 3d images!
That was a long time ago that they pinched Fergie! I read his autobiography (also read Giggsy's, but really taken little interest in the sport last 6 years or so) so I know a little about the 'Gaffer'. He really did achieve a lot pre Man U didn't he? It was bloody nice to know that there was a time that it wasn't just the Glascow clubs winning in Scotland!
I can imagine grandfathers sitting down with their grandkids and telling them 'folklore' of the times when Celtic and Rangers didn't dominate. The children will see it as less real than the chronicles of Narnia!

Re: Thingys In The Sky
Try it now GR
I said to Mrs S that we needed to get to the top of the Crocodile, because this Guy in OZ wanted pics of Thingys in the Sky and the Crocs in the Sky. She asked me his name. I said dont even go there It was a long hard climb to the top, and by the time we got there the light was going and it was getting dark. Just managed a couple of shots before time ran out for getting back down safely
Phew it was a close call getting back down, but we just made it out of the car park before it shut

Re: Thingys In The Sky
I can kinda see it now WS, but I think it can be viewed as much as a dog (with a decent snout) as an elephant
for the help though
"I said dont even go there"
Those are lovely new additions you've posted. The sunlight is superb in pic one and the water looks beautiful in pic two
