Its that time of year again people

BBC Winterwatch is back on January 14th for 4 nights and an Unsprung bounce bounce bounce bounce

http://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/natureuk/posts/Coming-up-on-Winterwatch-2013

This year they are live from the Highlands of Scotland and the webcams are back

Webcams

"The Winterwatch webcams return, live from Aigas in the Scottish Highlands where we hope to be following the beavers and pine martens again, as well as some new species.

The cameras are live on the web (global), smartphones and tablets (UK only) from 5pm Monday 14th January, 24 hours a day until 10pm Thursday 17th January.

And the webcams are on BBC Red Button between 11pm and 10am for the night owls amongst you (both literal and metaphorical). Sorry - afraid there is snooker on during the day."

Thanks PPH Very Happy watched this evenings and it was lovley, not sure if everyone else has watched it yet but it was wonderful, it looked very chilly up there in Scotland and Chris looked well wrapped up. Loved seeing the Pine Martins again and the little Beaver family and all the Wax Wings, that was amazing and I think Martin had a lucky escape out of his ice hole before it collapsed, brave for going in there really. Getting carried away so will stay silent now in case others haven't watched it yet.

Thanks PPH I recorded it and just watched it, I thought it was very good. Without trying to give to much away, I thought the Waxwings were great, and Millenium is a defo Awww. I cant belive Martin spent all that time up the Cairngorms without wearing a hat or putting his hood when off camera.

The Waxwings were so beautiful - what an amazing bird. Good to see the team back again, although I did feel for them in that weather!

Feel for them in that weather, 'Welcome to Scotland' Laughing Seriously, I think Martin got the short straw re braving the cold What a Face His hair would have kept him warm WS lol! Loved seeing the Ptarmigan, they were beautiful and white.

Think that's the first time I've seen Waxwings, lovely looking birds.

BBC Winterwatch 2013 768480 Thanks PPH. I have'nt watched it yet, I'm going to watch it in a bit. It must be the time of year, we have a family of 6 Long Tailed Tits they arrived at the weekend, we had some around the same time last year, but they went when the weather warmed up, but it looks like they are back for another visit. One nearly landed on Mrs S's head when she was filling the feeders up today, and another perched on the feeder while she was hanging the nuts up. They really are lovely little Birds, this is one of our little visitors this morning, the light was'nt very good.

I am just so loving Winterwatch, so many adorable animals but I must say I am loving the Beaver family a lot. Millenium is just the best isn't he WS but tomorrow they show a tussle with the males where he is so I am hoping he stays well out of the way. The pine Martins are addictive to watch and I wished we could see more of them. Tonight, I wont spoil it bt I loved all the urban stuff as well, especialy the little fox I love you
Martin is a complete nutter going with a hat or hood, Chris and Micheala are wrapped up to the nines and Martin is just so cool about it all.

Thanks so much for all the videos WS they are lovely and I love your pics too of your little visitors, bet Mrs S got a shock with one nearly lnding on her head Very Happy

PPH thanks for that clip, that was one of my fav moments of that show too, it was adorable but so funny at the same time.

Tomorrow we have an Unsprung as well bounce
Thought I would add this, it's usually Splodge that watches all the Watchs but tonight it was Tiga, it was taken on my phone so not a brilliant one.

Group Hug Great photo of Tiga enjoying Winterwatch Littlewid. I enjoyed last nights show more than the night before as I loved the urban bit. The pine martens are wonderful and so of course are the beaver family. Also great to see the red squirrels.

I think Winterwatch is addictive to Maine Coons Lai, as you know it's normally Splodge that watches the Watch programmes but last night Tiga watched it all the way through and my sister posted a picture of one of her youngest Maine Coon boys, Dragon, also watching it, then a couple of her friends who have had cats from her posted that their Maine Coons were also watchng it. The odd thing is, that when the birds are on the TV none of them jump at the screen or chatter like they do when they see birds in the garden, they just simply watch like we do, its very odd but lovely to see.

I agree, it was also wonderful to see the Red Squirrels and I love the little tests Chris keeps giving them Very Happy

I may be biased but I Agree they are very special cats, they are very dog like in some ways but they seem cats who can tune in very well with humans.

Mmmm I wonder what he has in store for tonight, i'm sure it will be a good one and if it's jars again I bet there are more of them! I think he loves getting us going with what the Squirrel will do as well, I think e really enjoys the tease Very Happy

So did I Lai, I thought they may take some of the riasins as they are sweet and then I thought they would Cache the Hazlenuts without the shells as it would be easy to eat, didn't think of them going mouldy if they buried them without the shells, goes to prove even the little Squirrel is cleverer than me Embarassed

I got the Nuts right Embarassed sorry to say. I thought as Squirrels cache their Nuts Embarassed it made sense that they would choose the ones in the shells to protect them from rotting. I've had a couple of quibbels with whats been on, in a clip a couple of days ago they showed the Bird feeders with fat balls in nets, and the advice is not to hang them out in nets, because Birds can trap their legs in them. Then last night Chris said that Snow Buntings are only on the east coast, but we get them here in Rhyl on the north west coast, but apart from that I think its been a really good series, and I do enjoy Chris's presentations, I think he's been even better this time. I loved the Long Tailed Ducks what beautiful Birds. I was as excited as he was when they were showed.
