This item is shot in colour. Newent, Gloucester. CU. Falcon's head. Various shots of falconer, Philip Glasier and some young falconers in the falcon paddock. That was a real treat this morning WS, I just love my birds of prey and for anyone else that does this is good to see, there is no sound but what amazing birds and it goes to show how huge they are when the girl was holding one, she was definiately having trouble, I loved the shots of the one having a bath and your right WS, best seen in full screen.
Thanks for posting, I really enjoyed that.

They are so majestic WS, what a fantastic find. Strange though seeing the old quality film and the clothes!

Hello all,new to this forum.
The film is quite interesting,it is where I bought my first falcon,a Saker. What is funny is how they've changed, the young girl picking up the Eagle is ,I believe,Gemmima Parry Jones, the daughter of Phillip Glasier(the falconer). She is back in the uk at Newent again and will I'm sure be seen flying birds on the game fair circuits.

Thank you for the info Tigerburnie, its always nice to know a little more background. Do you have any pictures of your saker? I have a birthday in September and I am so keeping my fingers crossed that my surprise present is to go to a centre to Fly and handle Birds of prey, it would be a dream come true.
There are often a few displays around Sussex so I will be keeping my eyes peeled for a show to attend, I just love watching birds of prey, they truely are special birds.

That will be wonderful, we all have different kinds of cameras and pictures on here, we are just pleased to be able to share in other members photos, so when you have the time that will be great.

Not come on here to pick fault,or score points, but it's a Lugger Falcon, not a Hawk.A small relative of our Peregrine, popular with falconers in the '60's and '70's as they were easier to handle than the more expensive falcons.Nice site you have here, hope you don't mind me sticking my nose in.

It's great that you have a link with the footage I found TB, and No your not sticking your nose in, it's good that members share their knowledge thats how we all learn, if you had'nt said anything we'd all be calling it a Lugger Hawk instead of Falcon, so thanks for pointing it out
