What a lovely story Doogs and so weird that mum was one of 16 and then she had 16, wonder if any of her pups will have 16 What a Face

Lets hope they are all ok but from the pics they do seem to be going along ok but poor mum with 16 kids to look after pale

Hopefuly they will all get good loving homes.

Does anyone know, can a mother feed all that pups on her own or do they get supplemented ?? Awful lot of milk to produce if she does pale

No way could she cope with that many surely? When my Springer had 6 puppies the vet said that was a good number to cope with and they all ended up fit and healthy. With 16 I imagine the little ones would get pushed out of the way all the time and miss out What a Face

Thanks Lai, I didn't think she could but just wasn't sure.

There is a couple of the 'Spotty Dogs' in the picture that are smaller than the others but generally speaking they all look a decent size and weight Dalmation Puppies 71418

Maybe she would have been able to feed all 16. I found this article of a Poodle who whelped 16 and towards the end of the article it sounds as if mum was feeding them all.

Doesn't bear thinking about coping with 16 What a Face

and then having to part with them, wouldn't you want to keep all of them? I found it hard to part with my puppies so kept 2 bitches. Having 6 of them for 12 weeks was total chaos they chewed everything and dug up the garden endlessly but I would do it all again Very Happy
