Season of bounty
Whilst out looking for Bearded Tits(rare in Scotland) I stumbled on some wild Damsons and Sloes, nearly ready for picking a few(always leave more than I take).
If you recall last year I posted a few quiz questions on the like of Blaeberries(British blue berries or Whimberries)and Cranberries this sort of time last year.A walk looking for migrants leaving and winter ones returning can be added to by doing a bit of foraging.
I'm not a mushroom fan so can't help with those.

Are those the Sloes TB? not one of your quizes talking about mushrooms at the end They look very juicy, what would you make with them if you picked them, Sloe wine or Gin? many years ago my mum and dad made Sloe wine.

Nope they're wild Damsons, not much bigger than some Sloes, but a different colour and the leaves are bigger.

I see they are Damsons now TB. I haven't seen any Damsons round this way, growing wild or in the shops. I love damson Jam. Are you or Mandy Jam makers?
