What a great morning WS - well worth the wait, to see the dwarf mongoose was lovely, and to see Karula and the cubs is really special.
Thanks so much for sharing.

The sharing's my pleasure Lai, it was such a thrill to see them at last. I've edited the post, and there are some extra pics in the middle of the post, plus information on the cubs.

Re: Post WildEarth Pics
thanks WS, just looked back and caught up with the info and pics.
Definitely a good safari day and it will be lovely to keep tabs on the two cubs as they grow. I wonder what names the 'spotter' will choose?

Re: Post WildEarth Pics
Is this what you were looking for Lai
There is a baby it's not quite a month old, but I could'nt get a pic. It kept going under before I could snap it. This is the Mum
Not sure how you spell this one. The presenter said its a Koko Franklin
Some Kudu females
I have'nt seen these before some Nyala Antelope thay look much like Kudu, but are darker
Then finally a Male Kudu

Great hippo photos WS - glad you managed to catch them today.
I think the Francolin looks like a Coqui Francolin - and the kudus are lovely, one of my favourites with their amazing horns and beautiful markings.
Thanks for the great photos.

Re: Post WildEarth Pics
The Mother Hippo was around this morning, but again I could'nt get a shot of baby Bubbles
Then this lovely Kingfisher. There are 10 species in Africa 8 of which are in this area not sure which one this is
The feathers are Electric Blue
This is a small Deer that I think the presenter called a Daker, but I'm not sure

Re: Post WildEarth Pics
That's the problem with those hippos WS - difficult to catch, but a great shot of the mother.
The antelope is a Duiker, and the Kingfisher I think is a Brown-Hooded Kingfisher, but I am not 100% sure. I'm not so up on SA birds.

There was a large Buffalo Herd this morning
Then there was something Lion in the road
The Male looked really close to the Tracker on the other vehicle

Re: Post WildEarth Pics
I love the way the lion lying down is completely unphased by the vehicle and has no intention of moving. Great to see them not being stressed by humans!
One poor buff had a broken horn, that must have been quite some fight.
Great photos, thanks WS.

Great photos and it looks like you had a good game drive today WS, with lots of variety. Well done for getting a question answered re the giraffes. I've not seen a Southern giraffe before having never been on safari in SA so lovely to see a new species.
