Re: Rare White Wombat
isn't he gorgeous, what an adorable little wombat. I wish they'd said he would be released back into the wild not to enter a breeding programme though!
Thanks for the link WS.

Re: Rare White Wombat
He is like a cuddly teddy bear isn't he and just so sweet. It is a shame he is going into a breeding programme Lai Pai, I wonder if that is because he is white, if it is it's a shame, I would rather he go to the wild as he is now healthy. I hope he has a happy life though and couldn't you just cuddle him, he really is adorable.
A little bit of my cynical side coming out now, it said in the very tiny statement under the video that he was supposedly taken to be nursed back to health, I hope he wasn't just removed from his mother to go into a breeding programme.

Oooooh he's adorable
I wonder if they are not releasing him back to the wild because he is white ? His colour could possibly make him an easy target for predators ? Just a thought

Re: Rare White Wombat
That was my thought as well. Albinos or Animals with a different colour dont usualy last long in the wild, as they are easyier to spot for predators. He may not lead the life he was born to, but I'm sure he will live a lot longer

Good point Doogs, I hadn't thought of that, certainly true in the case of certain animals.

Lets just think happy thoughts and that's the reason why - better to be breeding, having fun and increasing the Wombat numbers than being a likely target for predators in the wild :)

That is a very good point, about albinos back in the wild. It is a pity he isnt being returned, but if that is the reason I fully understand.
He is adorable though!!
