We spied one of these in the trees in the park at the end of our garden:

Would be nice if it hopped the fence into our garden.

WOW SM thats a cracking shot. Great to see a Green Woodpecker, you may be lucky they spend most of the time on the ground feeding, but if its starting to look for a nest site that might be the tree. You'll have to start an ant colony in your garden their diet is ants, ants, and more ants.
