Only around 35 Amur Leopards remain, making them the most endangered big cat on the planet. Learn more about what WWF is doing to protect the Amur Leopard, with the commitment of frontline heroes, such as Pavel Fomenko. Hear about Elduga, Narva and Tolstyi, 3 wild Amur leopards who live in the remote forests of far eastern Russia. Support WWf's work by adopting these Amur leopards. www.wwfadopt.com

Re: Amur Leopards
Once again human greed affects our planets animals by destroying their habitat. That is such a small gene pool to bring the Amur Leopard back from, unless a breeding programe, and feasable release scheme can be devised

WS - it's tragic to realise how few are left in the wild, they are such beautiful animals. Let's hope something can be done to stop them becoming extinct.

Re: Amur Leopards
Good news as you say AM, and at least they are looking to release the offspring back into the Amur Valley, and that will help to increase the gene pool which can only be good. Lets hope that other countries where they have Amur Leopards follow suit

Re: Amur Leopards
Absolutely shocking and so sad that there's only around 35 remaining in the wild
Thanks for that link AM and well done to that Sanctuary in Kent. Don't usually like captivity breeding but this I can accept if their goal is to release them back to the Amur Valley in Russia in a protected reserve

Re: Amur Leopards
Thanks for that Anne-Marie, a great clip. I agree Doogs but perhaps in this instance it is justified, with only 35 left in the wild, something surely has to be done.
They are such beautiful cats, fingers crossed the mating was successful.
