Thats an amazing feat, also the fact that they can eat, and sleep on the wing. With some of them going upto 17,000 miles incredable. Modern buildings are a problem for lots of Birds now, like Swallows, and House Martins, because the new PVC soffits, and barge boards will not allow the mud to stick for there nests.
Thanks for the info LW

I thought it was a great read too WS and I was astonished at the length of flight and also eating and sleeping on the wing, most of us have trouble multi tasking and animals really do put us to shame at times.
I suppose when we move with the times like UPVC soffits and gutterings it doesn't always help the birds does it which is a shame but my little Blue Tits did well and they have fledged as far as I know as it's a lot quieter now, so hopefully they have all done well.
