Maasai Morans Kill African Wildlife After Buffalo Kills Boy

Is it me or does this report sound like this all started with the Rangers? Blaming the Maasai for killing the boy and in turn taking their revenge on the wildlife the rangers where supposed to be protecting. These animals have it hard enough without there protectors putting them at risk. This is just so mixed up!

I think there is a lot more to that story, and the politicians, the community and the KWS need to get their act together fast.

There seems to be an awful lot of unrest in general and sadly it seems that again the animals are becoming caught in the middle and suffering. The KWS, the Politicians and man in general really need to get their act together.

I saw something about this and it makes no sense to me. Why kill a lion if a buffalo killed the child? Misplaced aggression? I guess it sounds better to your buddies to kill lion than a buff. They really need to start thinking big picture in Kenya. When the big cats are gone, so is their tourism industry. No one goes to see the plant life!

Once again if looks as though KWS are really failing to do their job properly, they are supposed to keep a balance between the Wildlife and the Community, and have failed to so like they did with the Lions near Niarobi. The Community needs to see the economic benifits of Tourism, or as Ronnie says if they dont they will not care about preserving the Animals that attract the tourists, and everything will take an inevitable downward spiral
