I learnt a lesson the other day, not to let your battery virtually run out of charge. I caught these two Pigeons quite a distance out the back of my house and they were being really lovely to each other, the pictures would have been quite nice but I forgot my battery really needed charging so I was struggling to get any real focus etc so they are poor shots but you get the jist of the friendliness between them. I like Pigeons so am quite gutted at the rubbish shots but it is a lesson learnt.

Ok so they're not chrystal clear LW & you've learned a valuable lesson . . . but I still like your photos and they do show a rather sweet love story between those two pigeons I love you

As Doogs says a lesson learned LW, but lovely shots of a pair of Collered Doves, they are usualy in pairs, and always close to each other. Your shots certainly show that. We have 8 Collered Doves here who regularly visit the feeders.

Laughing Littlewid - we've all done it! Always make sure you have a well charged battery and if possible have two batteries then you are always covered.

Another thing to remember LW that zooming uses the most power from your battery, so if you know your going to need to zoom a lot then its important to make sure the battery's fully charged.

I usually do make sure the battery is well charged but on this occassion I failed and the daft thing is I do have a spare battery, when I brought my camera I made sure I brought a spare battery. I was just so mesmerised by the pair of them that all sense went out of the window, I just wanted to capture them before they flew off.......I wont make the same mistake again No No No
