These threatened life-forms are living in the channel that runs through our garden, but they are threatened by a developer, who wants the channel filled in .
We are fighting to preserve their habitat.
Painted turtles are becoming rare in British Columbia.

Our painted turtles. living in the channel at the bottom of our garden, are at risk of losing their habitat, and we are fighting the developer that wants to fill in this natural lake-waters channel.
All life deserves a place to live in peace.
Wish us luck ! Save the smaller creatures and the big ones stand a better chance too.

Hello cranky1
Thank you for posting this thread, it's always good to catch up on what is going on around the world, awareness can often change the course of things for our much loved animals.
If you have any pictures of these wonderful turtles we would love to see them.

Please keep us informed as to the outcome of this awful situation for the turtles, with you behind their cause im sure the developer has a slim chance of winning.

I have moved this thread from Africa's big 5 into Other Animals of the world, hope thats ok with you.

Good to have you with us and look forward to more interesting news on the Canadian wildlife.

Hello Cranky1

Sounds like you have a problem there with the developer. Are they a protected species these turtles? If so, surely they can be saved. Certainly here in the UK developers have to respect certain wildlife.

Looking forward to seeing photos of them.
