Re: Horrible Man
- lock him up, no animal should suffer, vermin or not. I am anti guns and shooting but do understand the need to control certain vermin but humanely !

Re: Horrible Man
OMG I could so go off on one with this but it would not be pleasant to read so I hope that sets the scene of how I truely feel about this.
I will say, no animal deserves to suffer like that, it was horrendous and I felt physically sick reading it and then seeing that poor little Squirrel, all he was doing was feeding himself which he has a right to do.
The Grey Squirrel may be seen as vermin, but they didn't catch the bus here after deciding to come and oust our native red, no, they were introduced and now some people no longer want them they are being persecuted.
That man is sick and he deserves a custodial sentance, especially as he sees it all as a huge joke and had no feeling for the Squirrel at all and neither did he think about the Squirrel having the ability of feeling pain.
I could go on and on but I will end by saying if he doesn't get a custodial sentence its wrong and I hope Peter the Budgie doesn't pinch any of his food or else he may just get the same treatment, this mans mind isn't right.
Aarrrrgggggghhh I feel so angry

Re: Horrible Man
I agree that the grey squirrel didn't ask to be introduced to the UK along with many other species. It's a tough one when they become invasive and start to take over and kill our own species, mink being my all time dislike for what they have done to our wildlife. It's not their fault, it is indeed mankind that has interferred of course.
Nature doesn't always find it's natural balance so it's tough to know what to do to keep the balance. Live and let live would be my motto but having said that I have to be controversial and say we have to find a balance somehow.
Please don't think I am defending what this man did, I'm not, I would lock him up myself for disgusting cruelty, and throw away the key.

Re: Horrible Man
I dont think your defending the man at all Lai and I do understand about our native species and introduced wildlife and the effect it can have. I too would and probably do have the attitude of live and let live and wished nature could always set it's own balance. However there are deep feelings of need to protect innocent wildlife from man whether it has been introduced by man or not, I will always come down on the side of the animal.
