David Attenborough - Humans are plague on Earth (Telegraph)
Controversial comment by David Attenborough. I admire his courage in speaking out.

He's right that the World is infinate, and there is only so much space for us all to live, and to the wildlife of this world we must seem ,or be like a plague. We persecute them, destroy their habitat, and if we think they are a plague we kill them off. One day a higher order than humans like nature may decide to do the same to the human race.

It may sound controversial but actually it's not, I think DA is just saying what others may be thinking but not brave enough to say.
For one we are greedy we are definitely a wanting breed that always want things bigger and better and that takes space and resources from out natural world. We are also living longer with the aid of better health care and medicine, no longer is the mean expected age limit 50 - 60 due to poor health and limited medicine, so the birth/death rate is not balanced anymore. Green land is being taken in abundance to cater for the growing population and that has a negative effect on wildlife and the environment. Women are also having children younger and also later into life so births are increased again, there is also better medicine and intervention for premature births so they survive instead of dying ( I am not saying thats a bad thing by any means just pointing out a fact) and instead of having one or two children which was the norm now familys are growing bigger with more children and in reality those 5 or 6 children survive well into old age, whereas in the past, large families of children had a good percentage die either at birth or before the age of 5.
So we really are a greedy and booming species that no longer has the natural course of events that nature has with it's wildlife, we are destined to survive fitter and healthy than ever before and this does eventually take it's toll on the planet around us and one day it will go BOOM unless we do something about it, some will say it's controverstial but others will say it's a pragmatic approach to survival for the human population and the planet and the other species that share our planet.

I think that in general, animals would have been better off without us around. No amount of wildlife conscious people can make up for the habitat that we've destroyed. Then again, do you think that most animals liked having the dinosaurs around?
Humans aren't necessarily as bad as what can sometimes be made out though. It's just that we've risen to the top of the food chain. Give giraffes opposable thumbs and they wouldn't be any different.
Apart from the long legs, neck and spots thingy obviously
