Leopard Hanged by villagers
This is very sad and disturbing on all accounts. You feel sorry for the people involved but ls dreadfully sorry for the Leopard. I wished they had waited for officials to get there and I hope with all my heart he was truely dead before they hanged him.
THE PICTURES ARE NOT NICE

Tragic and I agree. I wish they had waited too.

Oh my goodness I know it's awful for the gentleman in question but I too so wish they had waited until officials had got there instead of doing what they did

Re: Leopard Hanged by villagers
We have seen viddeos, and news of Leopards being beaten with sticks, and rocks in villages before, and it is frightening when an attack happens like this, so its understandable after this attack that they killed the Leopard. But I dont understand the point in hanging the Leopard it really served no purpose, it was'nt teaching the animal a lesson to stay away from humans, nor would it serve as a warning to other Leopards as they are solitary It would have been better to wait for the officials, and I also hope it was dead before it was hanged.

Re: Leopard Hanged by villagers
I agree WS, it served no purpose at all, to me it was as if they were just celebrating killing the Leopard, just as if they had victory over the Leopard. Sadly it is probably a human/animal conflict again over space that sparked the attack, it is just a real shame it had to happen. I again say I hope it was dead when it was hanged but I hate to say, looking at it's face I am not so sure it was.

Re: Leopard Hanged by villagers
A difficult and sad case
I agree with you LW that it was probably a conflict over space, and I can see the perspective from both sides: The leopard having to confront humans due to restrictions in its natural habitat (article also says there are lots of leopards in this area so may have to look outside the square for its terrain), and the humans reacting like so to having three comrades being attacked.
