What happened to Shakira?

Just wondering does anyone know?

The last I heard Ghost she was spotted in the Mara last September, and she had yet another 5 Cubs who were not very old, but old enough to be climbing up trees

Thanks WS, I thought she may be dead because people are stating," this cheetah is believed to be one of sharikas girls" this makes me think is she dead or something? Btw was Malika ever shown on BCD I remember this one episode, were they showed this female cheetah suddenly being left by her mother and being confused(was that Malika)?

There is some news about Malika on this link. I do'nt think she was on BCD

If I remember correctly the cheetah they showed who had just split from her mother was Duma, not Malika. I know very little about either.

Duma was in the BCD series 2007, at the same time as Toto, this is from BBC

On another note, If I remember correctly Duma's Mum was the cheetah we came to know as Shakira / Sita. But was not credited with a name at the time.

Thats correct RaD. They were actualy featured in 2006 by Jonathan Scott not 2007, and indeed she was named Shakira/Sita after that

He started the status with 'Talking about Shakira...' I have had a good look around, at comments posted, previous posts, blog posts and can't track down what that refers too. It appeared that perhaps there was some Shakira discussion going on somewhere else when he posted that little update, but perhaps not.

Yes it's strange   I had a quick look round myself, but could'nt see anything. I was hoping it was an update on Shakiras present situation. Perhaps something will come up

Hi WS. Had another look and now the previous picture to the one you linked, posted on Jonathan's FB page is one of Shakira, wasn't showing before for some reason. It is an old picture of her with her cubs and no update or new information was given.

Yes it's wierd funny enough I checked my phone when I was out in the day before posting about J&A, and Shakira at night. That old photo was the one I saw on my phone, but as you say it did'nt show on the Blog when we looked   another Mara Mystery
