The fire brigade ??? Honestly I am sorry that the RSPCA or someone else couldn't have helped it seems a bad use of firefighters time.

I think the one plus from that was when it was Car ot Cat they decided Cat 
but as you say it does seem a waste of Firemans time especialy if there's an emergancey call
