Wow, that must have been heart stopping! Love the picture with the seal looking on as though it was surprised too!

We've had humpback whales swim under our boat in Hawaii and that was pretty amazing, a female was trying to seek rest from her male pursuers so she used us as a shield. Her and the males kept swimming backwards and forwards for what felt like forever! Mind you, we were in much bigger boat... I think I would have been quite frightened had I been in a canoe!!

That must have been an amazing experience to Liz. The female Humpbacks do get some hassle from competing male, don't. blame her for hiding under your boat
