Re: Olive is dead
I am absolutely devastated by this news and to be quite honest I don't know what to say at the moment I'm so shocked. She was always so carefuol so was the fact that she was heavily pregnant her downfall
Ghost I've deleted your other posts about this, I think one thread is enough and I'm sure everyone will see this one.
RIP Olive, you were a very, very special leopard and I will miss you dearly when I go to the Intrepids

Re: Olive is dead
Very sad news but these things happen in the wild. Every day is a life and death drama!! It would appear that she was probably killed by lions.

Re: Olive is dead
Thanks for the link Safariman, Jackson has also confirmed the bad news. As you say its life in the wild, but it's so sad to learn she has gone after all this time. She was a star of Leopards like Half Tail, Zawadi, and Bella and for her age seemed to be doing so well. Thats two inconic favourites of the Mara that have gone in a short while.
RIP Olive

What a tragic loss of a beautiful life and also that of her baby/s. It is an incredibly sad day for Leopards and also for all those that loved and followed Olives life. She was one magnificent Leopard and a fantastic mum and she will be missed by so many.
Sleep peacefully sweet Olive, you will never be forgotten.

RIP Olive a truly remarkable and special leopard and one whom I shall always remember fondly.
It's always devastating when this happens and it is to be expected but it is truly a sad day.

What a beautiful tribute to our dear Olive. The photos just show why she was such a magical Leopard, they are so captivating but bitter sweet at the same time. It truely is a sad loss but Andys pictures make us all remember her with such fondness.

Re: Olive is dead
I got on to it today, and Oh Boy thats just brought to my eyes. Olive was such a beautiful Leopard. Those photos of her by Andy are gorgeous, and really do her justice. I love the first one, to me it really shows what Olvie was all about, a Leopard in her prime showing such power, and her personality. A wonderful tribute, to a wonderful Leopard, who as Andy said will be very sadly missed, but never ever forgotten.
Thanks so much for the link Doogs, glad I persevered

Another lovely tribute to Olive, including the history of Olives life story, her birth to Mum Bella, her cubs, and starring roles on Big Cat Dairy. A fantastic read, and fantastic tribute from Paul Kirui.

Re: Olive is dead
That really is a beautiful tribute to Olive and also to recap on all her history and cubs was lovely. It must be very hard for Paul and all those who knew Olive and who had spent time close to her. It still seems quite unreal and incredibly sad but she also had a good life and gave us all lots of enjoyment.
Thanks for the link WS and Lai, it was so lovely to read even though it still brings a tear to my eyes
