I wasn't quite sure where to post this but as he is so iconic for our British Wildlife I thought here was a good place. I know it's not about wildlife but it is a lovely story/article about Chris and his step daughter which involves their love of wildlife and their lives.

I'm so pleased you did Littlewid. A really moving and lovely article. I knew he had a partner but nothing more than that, so it's lovely to learn he has a step-daughter and has such a great relationship with her.

I am a huge fan of Chris Packham and love all the programmes he presents, even if he is geeky at times I enjoy it.

Thanks LW, a lovely story. I always wondered abot Chris, because you never saw, nor was there any reference about family life apart from Itchy, and Scratchy. I'ts great to know he's found such a great relationship, and love on a human level as well as his love of Nature.

Such a great article, I've always loved Chris Packham since he appeared on the Really Wild Show with Terry Nutkin, as a Step Daughter myself I know how this kind of relationship can be as rewarding (and sometimes more) as a blood relation as there is no pressure to like them 'just because theyre related'

I'm so glad you all liked the article. I thought it was really lovely too. I had an inkling that Chris had a partner but I didn't realise he had lived with someone before who had a daughter and after they split he maintained his relationship with the daughter. He never talks about his family does he, he mentions about when he was a boy and as you rightly say WS, Itchy and Scratchy but that's about it, so it was so nice to see anther side of him.
I admire him too and I have respect for him as well. I think our wildlife are lucky to have Chris on their side.
