This is quite disturbing. I knew there were training curses for non vets etc to be able to microchip, lots of breeders have done the course, however, this sounds as if it was a non trained person doing the chipping and to my guess someone who doesn't even own a cat because if you own a cat and have had it microchipped you will know it only goes just under the skin, so this is really not good. It is good that the council are picking up the vet bill but how painful must this have been for this little cat and paying £3000 doesn't compensate for a healthy cat possible being disabled all its life.

Oh my goodness that is such a horrible story and totally preventable. I am also glad the council are picking up the bill for this, so they should but a fit, healthy cat's life has been ruined by negligence, not good at all  No
