The rare baby cranes who come with high hopes: Pair are first bred in western Britain for 400 years
Hatchlings were born at Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust Slimbridge reserve
First new generation of wild cranes seen in western Britain in 400 years
Wild crane was once commonplace, but hunted to extinction by 1600s

They are pretty special birds then aren't they - 400 years is a loooong time to wait !!

They are absolutely gorgeous little things, very fluffy and cute  I love you
