Starving dog 'Alex' who was on the brink of death weighing 43 pounds
after surviving on twigs and rocks is rescued by animal lovers

Alex was picked up by an animal control center on the streets of New Orleans
He would have been euthanized if someone didn't claim him
The Southern Animal Foundation, a no-kill rescue organization, decided to take Alex in
X-rays showed chewed twigs and rocks in his stomach
He has been placed on a prescription diet to gain weight
Once healthy again he will be given to a good home

That is shocking and just so sad to see. That poor lovely dog, I'm so glad he has now been rescued and saved from starvation and let's hope he finds his forever home soon.

Thank heavens for organisations like that, at least it shows that there are some humans who will care, and love animals no matter what condition they are in. Hopefully he will eventualy have a happy future when he's recovered
