affraid You trying to say I'm loud Lai lol!
You must have heard me laughing from over the hills last night. I watched the first episode of Autumnwatch, and had the best belly laugh I've had all year.
The opening clips showed Martin Hughes Games in a dark hide looking at a small screen you couldn't see anything on. Turning to the camera he said ( wait for it Welcome to everyday Lets Talk - Page 4 40683 Welcome to everyday Lets Talk - Page 4 40683 Welcome to everyday Lets Talk - Page 4 40683 Welcome to everyday Lets Talk - Page 4 40683 Welcome to everyday Lets Talk - Page 4 40683 ) It's more exciting than Strictly ROFL I nearly fell off my chair lol! I had to hit the pause button to wipe the tears frome my eyes. I thought OMG I would so love to see LW's and Lai's faces when they heard that. WS is going to have a field day lol! Welcome to everyday Lets Talk - Page 4 40683 ROFL .

Autumnwatch is as ever just wonderful and it's inspired me to think about Swift boxes, not that we have Swifts and haven't for years but maybe it would encourage them?  I am not sure so need to do some research!

Hello all. I had joint the forum about 3-4 years ago, if I remember correct and have since then finished 3 years of college and am currently in the final year. I had completely gone out of the loop with regard to WAA and I got back here after many, many months (possibly years) but nothing has made me happier today than seeing that the forum is still very much active! Welcome to everyday Lets Talk - Page 4 71418 And I just wanted you all to know that and thank you!

So while I've been off the forum, my interest in the big cats and other animals has not dwindled. Razz I visited a couple of places around India in the last one year, the Gir National Park being one of them. I could share some photos when time permits. I hope to really find the time to visit and read the site on a more regular basis too because there has been so much that I've missed on :)

Good afternoon everyone. Hasn't this week flown by? Probably because it's dark so early Laughing which is a real pain when you have dogs and don't like walking round the woods in the dark!

I took my mum to the garden centre this morning for bits and bobs and a caffé latte and we met the most adorable cocker spaniel puppy being trained as a hearing dog. She was just adorable and her foster family have had her for 3 weeks, she will be with them for about 14 months and is learning how to socialise and cope with everything. Daphne (which I wasn't sure suited her) is one of the prettiest little spaniels I've ever seen, a lovely golden colour and I was just so impressed with the whole of idea of fostering a hearing dog - yes you can guess where I am going with this!!! No seriously I would love to help with something like this one day but not just yet as Kip is a handful and I don't want to stress her. I wish Daphne all the luck and hope she makes the grade as she's one gorgeous gentle little puppy I love you

Have a great weekend everyone and enjoy the second episode of The Hunt.

Welcome to everyday Lets Talk - Page 4 768480 Great to see you back Wilderness fantastic you have nearly completed your studies with only 1 Yr to go, and that you still love wildlife. Glad you got to visit Gir, did you get into the forest, and see the Lions there, it's really interesting to see the difference between the African, and Asiatic Lions both in size, and behaviour. It would br brilliant if you could share some of your photos if you need any help with doing that just ask, and we will be glad to help.
Busy Busy Bee LW hopefully you will find time to get on more on your Hols next weel. I do notice you managed to avoid the AutumnWatch comment on strictly Hmmm
Lai we don't know how these people can foster, and help train hearing, and other care Dogs for so long although its so worthwhile doing people must get so attached to them it must be heartbreaking to let them go Sad
Have a great weekend everyone

Post  Laikipia Sat Nov 14, 2015 11:12 am

Good morning everyone.  I am so shocked about what has happened in Paris, what a horrendous night and I cannot imagine the horror.  There is just no justice for these atrocities and I wonder when it will end.

Sorry to hear about Nero Littlewid.  It's a shame when animals hate the fireworks so much.  Our spaniels were the same but Tamu, Rosie and Kip don't bat an eyelid luckily.  I think Kip would have when we first got her but as the other 2 didn't she thought it  must be okay.  Let's hope it's all over now.  Frankly I wish it didn't happen at all and if it must then it should be one day a year only!!!

I'm off to London with my mum on Monday and then doing a bread making course with Pete over in Bakewell (should be tarts really shouldn't it  Laughing ) so won't be online until Friday probably.

Have a good weekend and week  cheers

Good afternoon everyone Very Happy

Really sorry about the other night but boy those fireworks were going off like nothing else and took us by surprise and Nero hates them and they went on for ages, so again sorry for the flying visit.

Glad you seem to have got your phone/pc all sorted now WS, that was just horrible for all concerened wasn't it so I'm pleased its all sorted for you now. It must be lovely to have your weekends free now so you can enjoy lots of Safari's with Mrs S. Welcome to everyday Lets Talk - Page 4 40683 .....at least it gives you an excuse to have a sundowner when your back at basecamp Wink http://www.picgifs.c

Daphne sounds gorgeous Lai and I'm not surprised your interested in fostering but I understand how you feel. It seems quite like being a puppy walker for the Guide Dogs. As you know I went to a Guide Dog reception on the 10th Nov, I got invited as I sponsor a puppy, well im on my second now, anyway, we had a talk from a puppy walker who actually doesn't live too far from me and she brought Vinnie her 12yr old retired guide dog, he's a black Lab and now does promotional work for them and then there was a talk from a lady with her guide dog, don't ask why I can't remember her name, for the life of me I just can't anyway she was a beautiful black Lab too and then a talk from a trainer from the training centre in London and he had Kit with him and they did demonstrations, Kit is a retreiver GSD X and she was adorable. They all gave so much information and insight into training the dogs and why certain breeds are used and my god the training is intense and anyone who says a dog Is just a dog needs their head testing, I was gob smacked with it all. Anyway the info was so much I couldn't type it all here.....i'd be here all night!!!!!! I will tell you it pays to listen though.....one bit of info they gave is that during all a dogs training and working life they are not taught to give paw, shake hands or high 5 as they could willingly do this and if their owner had a hot drink in their hand it could be quite dangerous....they also said that play with a dog is always done on the floor for the owners safety as they could get knocked over etc as they can't see the dog. Well once the dogs were off their working harnesses you were able to interact with them which we were all keen to do.....anyway we were outside with Kit after her demonstration and people were bending over her to stroke her and she stood there wagging her tail which was lovely.....you know me, I wanted more than a waggy tail.....I couldnt sit on the ground as it was very muddy as it had been raining so I crouched really low and low and behold I got the play and a real smackeroony of a kiss........so glad I listened Very Happy
Anyway going back to what you said about Daphne (wonder if hearing dogs are also named by the next letter of the alphabet and a theme like the Guide dogs Lai) a puppy walker has a puppy from 6wks of age for 14-16 months and they do the same thing with socialising and taking them everywhere and teaching basic commands of sit, stay, lay down and wait and come....although come is by the use of a whistle......guide dogs are never called back by their name.....they also teach them to toilet on command......thats another story.......anyway I asked about handing them over at 14-16 months and they said that you get to see the puppy progress so much that you can see they are ready to learn more and they need to move on and your also ready to basic train and socialise the next puppy......when ive stopped work this is definitely going to be something I'm going to do but in the mean time there are other ways I can volunteer and I'm looking into that......I loved the visit and thats just a small bit........even though ive gone on a bit Very Happy

In my time off this week ive also managed to get all my christmas shopping done http://i70.servimg.c so now I can just relax round the shops and enjoy smooching about Welcome to everyday Lets Talk - Page 4 853843

Back to work tomorrow, that'll come hard !!!!!

Lai enjoy London with your mum and the Breadmaking in Bakewell.....yes I'm sure that hould be tarts too Welcome to everyday Lets Talk - Page 4 615959

Strictly tonight Dhaaaaaalings.......you know you will be watching WS .....even though your Carol has been eliminated...she was lovely but she had to go flower

Have a lovely evening everyone and a good week Welcome to everyday Lets Talk - Page 4 768480
